I realized something about myself, and that thing was that I eat a lot of damn potatoes. I make a breakfast hash, and fries way more than I probably should. But because of that realization, I decided to get something to make cutting these things a little quicker and easier. To that end, this little guy does that, BUT, its not without its own frustrations. 1) just forget using the suction cup. Ive tried using it everywhere, and it will NOT stick. I don't even bother with it anymore. 2) I feel that at any moment, the handle on this thing is going to snap off or the blades are going to get exploded across the room as the potato pushes them out of the plastic casing. To their credit, they have lasted so far, but every time I use this, it requires a surprising amount of force to get a potato through the cutters, and it puts an INCREDIBLE amount of stress on the blades and handle. If I had to bet, I'm not confident that it will make it through years of potatoes. A sweet potato might be like a death sentence for this cutter. 3) my biggest gripe is that there really isn't that much room for the actual potato to fit. As you can see in the pics, I buy large potatoes so that I can have normal length sized fries, but I have to basically cut them in half to get them to fit in the cutter. You have a little under 4 inches when the cutter is fully open.It WORKS, but its got some shortcomings.

Chef's Path works good. I kind of wish it was a little longer so it would handle bigger potatoes but the fries are actually pretty good size. I've used it 3 times so far and it makes two cookie sheets of fries in just a few minutes. I bake my potatoes in the oven with no oil and they've turned out wonderful each time. I've only made the thick fries so far. When I use big potatoes I have to quarter them or they're too dense and they won't go through the blades. When I make skinny fries I'll only use small potatoes so they don't get jammed up. The one feature that is worthless though is the lever on the side that works the suction cup. It only goes half way up and stops. I can't even force it down so the suction cup doesn't even work. I find myself holding the unit down with my left hand and working the lever with my right. It comes apart easily and is easy to clean. They include a nifty little potato scrub/peeler brush that makes cleaning the potatoes a snap. All in all, I think it was worth the money.

Purchased in June now sept. One of the blades came out during use and can't get it back in. You have to cut the potatoes about an inch to an inch and 1/2 to get the machine to work. I read all of the reviews and they warned about breakage if to large of a potato and we thought that's ok because we were going to use it for small pieces any way. Any way I am going to contact the manufacturer an see what happens. I will up date after.Oct. 9, 2016-the company contacted me through my review! I did not even have to contact them. Huge plus for me. They gave me a coupon code to get an entire new set for free with of course free shipping and keep the original one as well! We have been using the new small FF cutter frequently and so far it works great and no issues with breakage. We do cut the potatoes smaller befor cutting. This is not an issue as we like them smaller. So I am changing to 5 stars because if the great customer service and no further issues with the new one. If we have issues again I will update. I would purchase from this Cheffs Path again!

I am so excited to have this French Fry cutter. My daughter loves french fries, but I never wanted to give her those restaurant ones because I am very health conscious. I wanted to make sure that my daughter eats the most fresh and organic ingredient cooked in cast iron cookware and so I thought of buying this french cutter to make it at home. This was my first trial of making french fries at home :)I must say it is an amazing premium quality bundle provided with everything from peeler to cleaning brushes. The cutter is very sharp and runs smooth, so take extreme care while working with it. There are 2 sizes of the square cutter, larger square and smaller one with guards provided for each of them. It is super easy to use and clean, just one press and you are done.I love this so much and my daughter was also very happy too.

After reviewing a lot of products finally we decided to settle for this one. We like the option to cut thinner and thicker strips. I am giving 4 start since the cutting still takes considerable amount of force or pressure. My daughter could not cut at all, and I had to help. But then we found out that if we put a whole potato in there, its very hard, sometimes impossible to cut it.... but if we cut the potato into half lengthwise, then the cutting becomes significantly easier. Cleaning is easy. No more trying to cut french frys with knives... what a relief.

Quick deliver, it wasn't what I thought I ordered, but everything it said it was. I am using it to slice my apples, and in fry shape they are even more manageable as a snack food than eating large wedges. Its quick and easy to use and I don't have to push down on my arthritic thumbs. You just have to watch out for the catapult out of the cage. I put my square plastic container there and can eat right out of it.
