Didn't meet our expectations
We love many of the "O Ball" toys and found the O Ball ball toy essential when teaching our grandson to catch. So, when I discovered O Ball made bath toys I didn't hesitate to purchase one for our dear grandson. We spend a good deal of time at a neighhood pool, where the younger children are encouraged to share their pool toys with their "friends" in the baby pool. I thought "tubmarine" would be a nice toy to add to our collection of pool toys. However, after several trips to the neighborhood pool, I have discovered this particular OBall toy is not as much fun as our much loved ball. And while, the OBall design does make it easy to grasp, there really is no reason to "catch" this submarine.Despite what some other reviews reported about the lack of propulsion, I found that the rear propeller did function on the "tubmarine" we received. We discovered the propeller must be wound counter clockwise WITHOUT releasing the tension. This process is nearly impossible to explain to a young child and I found children at our neighborhood pool needed to be around 5 years old before they understood how to wind the tubmarine.Even so, once the propeller has be wound, it does little to actually propeller the submarine forward, most likely, because of the open hole design of OBall toysThe Tubmarine was a moderate hit with the children under 15 months and those children who are still delighted by the simple act of "catching" a floating object.

Not the perfect Sub, but it’s better than what I grew up with
So, I don’t think that the perfect bathtub submarine toy has been invented yet. Let’s start there. The one I had when I was little held water (which got rusty and funky if I went too long between baths) and didn’t really go under water (down) very well or GO under water (horizontally) at all. That makes the O Ball sub a vast improvement on all fronts. Signature open frame construction won’t hold water...or air, so it submerges just fine without any funk accumulating between baths. The propeller must be wound up manually by turning it opposite of the direction of spin, which is a big ask for babies and even a good number of toddlers. Because of the open, signature O Ball design, the fluid dynamics of the hull are suboptimal and it doesn’t really move with the propeller, but my baby loves to play with it in and our of the tub, so this one is a winner in my book, even if it isn’t perfect.

My little one's favorite bath toy.
This is my little one's favorite bath toy. Really made my little one's bath time more enjoyable and he gets a kick out of it when we wind it up and he sees the propeller go. It is super easy for him to grab and light enough for him to actually play with it. I've noticed that in another review one complained about it not going anywhere in the pool. Well it is for bath time and not for a pool. I believe that the speed is appropriate for an infant that is still in the wobbly stage of sitting up or just learned to sit up on their own otherwise I think it would be too much.

Slightly Disappointing
I love OBall products because they're easy for my toddler to grip. However, I'm disappointed in this toy.It floats okay in the tub but when wound completely up, barely putzes along in the water.I thought my kiddo would love seeing this thing whizz by in the tub but he doesn't even notice it moving because the movement is miniscule. The toy is good quality and looks really cute. It's also easy to hold but my kid doesn't care about it.

wish the propeller did something
propeller does really propel the toy very well. Nice colorful toy though and like that it sits at the top of the water. My baby likes to kick her legs to try to get to it (while in a floatation pad), so it does encourage her to move!Edit: this toy is better than I thought. She likes to grab for it and the large holes makes that easy. It's bright colors make it very visible in the pool. The top periscope--she likes to put in her mouth.

Great toy for infant
We haven’t used this in the bath yet, but my 6 month old loves to play with it. It’s so much easier for her to old than other toys, and it’s adorable. It’s held up well when she decides to drop it on the floor.

Dog thought it was for her😕
I looked cute and I was excited for my granddaughter to be able to play with it in the tub, but...my husky unfortunately took a liking to it first, needless to say it was a loss. On a positive note my dog wasn’t able to immediately chew it up in the limited time she had it, so I think I can recommend this toy for its durability 😂 (rated on the recommendation of my 10 year old Husky)

Who knew the propeller spins?
My grandson loves this. He can easily hold on to it and play. The propeller can be wound up and it will spin when released. No concerns if he touches it while it spins because the propeller is not sharp or very long. We attach it to a car seat or play pen and it keeps him engaged.

Nice little toy for the bath. Easy for baby to hold. Slightly overpriced hence the 4* review. My 6 month old likes it.
