ordered a package of 4 and got one. No response from seller
Product was fine. but I received 1 flare and paid for 4. The seller was quick to send me the missing flares. Other than the delay, the seller made it right. I'm happy

Excellent Customer Service
This product was exactly what I wanted. However due to personal complications with my boat I needed to return the product, which the seller was extremely helpful with and I appreciated the personal customer service they provided.

Over Priced; Model 865 Same as 901
Do your homework and don't be fooled by 48, mostly 5 star ratings, but only 1 review {12/1/20}. After emailing Orion Safety, they confirmed the 901 hand-held flare is the same as the 865. The only difference is that the 901 is sold in bulk and the bulk buyer can sell those flares in whatever quantities they choose. The 865 is a packaged product. The 865 sold as an individual 4-pack on Amazon has a price range of $34-$37. Locally, a big box store sells this same 865 4-pack for $25 (works out to $6.25/flare). Buying four 901 flares on this listing is presently priced at $44.I initially purchased one as I was wary of whether the expiration date would be approximately 3.5 years. It was roughly that time frame. I would have been better off buying the 865 4-pack to begin with had I earlier knew what I learned from Orion since my sized boat needs to carry a minimum of 3 flares to be USCG compliant. I'll now purchase a 4-pack for $25 locally rather than spend $28.60 to buy 2 more from this Amazon listing. Also be aware that USCG approved flares to meet boating requirements are different from road side flares (usually not hand-held) which will not pass USCG inspection. Orion has a good reputation, and the flare looks to be in usable condition but really no way of knowing it will work properly until an emergency demands it be ignited. This is an example of what I have increasingly seen shopping Amazon over the past few years which was less the case over the more than 15 years shopping here. You need to run repeated searches to pull out all price points for the same item on different listings both on Amazon and through other browser searches accessing the marketplace outside of Amazon. I often find much better pricing elsewhere even when shipping is included and I didn't spend a roughly $120 membership fee to shop those other merchants. However, we can thank Amazon's way of doing business as making us better shoppers.
