Excellent photos, well written full of information about Puukko history

As someone who really wanted details about what makes the puukko distinctive, it is immensely helpful to have a book like this. The author makes puukkos and it shows in what he chooses to describe. You will not lose anything if you are not interested in making knives, but the little details that an actual bladesmith includes really do add value.This is the abridged version of the author's work. I hope to one day find the full-length Finnish language edition, but for now, this is the best resource I've found on the knives of Finland. Well worth having and the price is very fair for what it is.

This book is exactly what I have been longing for in regards to the Puukko. The photographic examples are museum quality and perfect for study/research. The author reaches back deep into history and makes sense out of the Puukko in trems of "today". This is a MUST HAVE book for a collector. The photographs alone are well worth the price of this book.

The graphics/images are great. There's plenty of depth to the info provided. It's exactly what I was looking for, to better understand this style of knife.Very pleased with it.

Realizing this is a translation from Finnish, to German, to English it is pretty good. Reading it there seems to be "holes" in the information but this is to be expected from a book reduced in size from two volumes to one.

Malheureusement qu'en anglais, mais compréhensible tout de même. Photos de qualité et une tonne d'informations sur l'origine et l'histoire des Puukkos à travers les âges. Un must pour les passionnés !
