The book arrived on time and it was like new. Binding was great and no entries on the interior.

This book came well boxed and wrapped in plastic and apart from some bent edges seemed like good condition until I started using it.... Half the index is missing. Its like they didnt get printed in the book. The book just ends in the middle of the "J" index. Kinda hard for a student to search needed content without that major part. Very disappointed given the price of the textbook. I dont have time to return and wait for a replacement. I wouldnt recommend if you are going to be heavily utilizing the index in your research.

If you buy the rental, it doesn't come with the MindTap access code. Totally not worth the money.

I use this textbook for teaching a world religions course. Unfortunately I am required by my college to use it for the course. There should be some primary texts with each chapter, not just the chatty description of the religion by an American "scholar," but some translation of texts like the Tao Te Ching, the Upanishads, the Qu'ran. One simply cannot get a sense of the religion's climate of prayer and devotion without some direct contact with primary texts, or the accounts of devotees and mystics. In the case of this book, one must not only buy the textbook, but the additional online materials to get any primary text.
