Fine for shorties. Amazing bike!
I am an amateur athlete and I bought this bike to help maintain my cardio fitness while I go through rehab for a sprained MCL. I should be back to my regular training schedule soon, which is team practice 3-4 times per week and cross training at home on my days off, so I didn't want to invest in a gym membership just to be able to use their bikes, or to pay $20 per spin class (which I would have to modify for my injury).About assembly: The bike was well packed in the box. The box arrived with some splits in the side, so I was concerned that some parts might be missing, but everything was well packed and taped into place inside the box so it couldn't slide out through any of the splits. Assembly took about 30 minutes and was very easy with the included instructions and tools (and I am not a handy person).Good for shorties: I am only 5 feet tall and have a 27" inseam. This bike fits me perfectly. I have the seat in the second lowest position, so the seat could even go down one notch.About the bike: I used to take spin classes a lot, so I am familiar with studio quality spin bikes and this one stacks up. There is some minimal chain noise when riding, but it is still pretty quiet. It is solid when used in positions 2 (running) and 3 (climbing/standing). I've read some complaints about the seat, but it is fine for a spin-type workout where you are standing for much of the workout. In my opinion, any bike seat hurts if you've got your butt on it for too long, so stand up some of the time!I'm glad I bought this bike. It is a great value and I know I will continue to use it for cardio cross-training long after my MCL is healed.

I am 60 year old female - with Spin Teaching experience
I fell in love with spin in my early 40’s - I was never an athlete -started going to a gym with work friends and fell in love - so much so that at the age of 46 I became a personal trainer and group class instructor as a part time job. Again non of us were “athletes” we were a group of middle aged people that found a lot of fun and stress relief in exercise. This bike is just like the spin bikes we used before technology brought us all the gadgets today. This is perfect! I don’t use online classes because I am intrinsically motivated. But I learned that after getting started with a group of people. This is a great bike for beginners- If you have no spin experience I would suggest using it with one of the YouTube online classes. It is important to ensure that you are using it properly- there are 3 major positions 1. Sitting 2.Standing 3. Off seat bent forward on bars. It is also important to learn the “push/pull” of legs. Start with about 5 minutes and slowly work yourself up. Spinning is one of the best cardio exercises out there it is easy on joints and you don’t have to do it for hours 20-30 minutes getting your heart rate up and down HIIT is all that is needed. This is also a great bike because of the cost. I know a great deal of people who spend $1000,s on Peloton’s that rarely get used. After giving it an honest try you find spinning is not for you - you didn’t invest a lot of $$. As an experienced spinner it is also excellent- I am 5’3 - 115 lbs and it fits and handles my body perfectly. The box itself was big and heavy. I broke it down outside and carried the pieces in. My husband surprised me and assembled it. He said it was very easy to put together. Another tip: don’t start buying spin shoes or a nice seat until you think spinning will become a regular practice. I did research before purchasing and I am thrilled with my selection. At the end of the day it is 9 times out of 10 it is not the “exercise equipment” it is the person using it. So big thumbs up!!

Great for a beginner
I haven't ever made it to a spin class, so I am a total novice in this realm... but I did a lot of research before buying this bike and I think I got a good bike for the money. The first time I rode it I was shocked at what a good workout I got! My husband was the one who put it together, so I have no comment on that. He got it so it was fitted just right for my pregnant body. A couple things I've noticed as I've ridden that may or may be helpful:1)The seat seems to sit at an angle so sitting upright is an effort. That may be normal for spin bikes, I'm not sure. The seat is really not comfortable (I'm not sure there is a comfortable seat on a bike) I ride with cycling shorts (with the padded bottom) and I still have to adjust my position frequently to avoid a lot of discomfort. The angling of the seat makes it a bit difficult to sit upright (not holding the handlebars at all), but my pregnant belly gets in the way of leaning all the way forward for long periods.2)The pedals are sharp! I'm sure this is common, but you really have to wear shoes if you're going to work out on this thing! My kids love to play on it too and there have been some minor scrapes due to the sharp pedals.3)There is a slight knocking on the left side unless I am seated a certain way.4) The water bottle fits really, really tightly. Its kind of a pain to get in and out during a workout. But it makes it so my kids can't steal it from me while I work out. :)As I said, the workout I get when I ride it is awesome! Definitely worth the investment and so much easier than getting to the gym!
