Works exactly as expected. Easy to install and use
The Sony TMR-BR100 3D Sync Transmitter for Sony's 3D Glasses worked great with my Sony 3D TV. I can't believe that I waited this long to purchase this 3D transmitter which came only as an optional separate purchase item with the original tv. I have been really missing the great 3D performance of this Sony TV

This might be a good product but unfortunately was totally useless
This might be a good product but unfortunately was totally useless, did not fit my Sony Bravia. I was very disappointed and irritated because this mess could be avoided if the seller would have specified very clear which Sony TV can use this specific transmitter. Not only, but the instructions were only in Chinese - no offense to China but I'm an American and I speak ENGLISH. I'm adding a couple of pics so you can check the plug shape before you order.

Good deal, works fine.
For the price of this transmitter there is no reason to not get one if you need an external transmitter for your tv. It works perfectly with my Sony TV and the Sony 3D glasses I bought here on amazon. There are 3 switches on the front and I don't know what they do so I just left them in the middle and it works fine. It came with double sided tape to mount and it holds well. That being said this type of active 3D technology has a lot of flicker and is not as enjoyable as passive 3D. It's much more tolerable viewing at night in a dark room. If the room is bright the whole room will flicker.

Plug it in and it works. Done.
I bought this for an 18 month old Sony HX800 television. It was simple to set up as you just plug it into the back of the TV and then place it somewhere in front where it has direct line of sight to the 3D glasses. In my case I placed it on top of the TV with the included adhesive tape and rotated using the thumb knob on the side so that it transmitted at eye level to someone on the couch. That was it. I handed my kids their 3d glasses, hit the 3d button on the remote to turn on the function then browsed to the 3d channel in the HX800 included network services. My kids were shouting with excitement at the new effect.

This transmitter is a inconvenience for something that should of been built into the tv.
Overall I'm very disappointed with sony for forcing you to buy this product separate. I have a 46" hx800 tv and the tv is fantastic with a incredible picture. But in 3d it is never in perfect focus. I do not know where to place the blame so I am mentioning this in my review. The transmitter itself installs easily enough but the quality is only so so.But aside all that once again amazon provided me with a great customer experience and a much better deal than could be had in the store.

Great for what it does
I mean if you have a 2010 model 3D Sony TV you MUST buy a transmitter separately (except for a single XBR model I believe). So with the transmitter and glasses I can now watch 3D TV. Yay I guess. This isn't a review on the quality of the 3D that Sony TVs provide..though it is pretty good.I mean the whole purpose for this transmitter to exist (aside from Sony nickel and diming it's customers) is to send a synch signal to the glasses. And it does that very well. And it works with the new 2011 TDG-BR250 glasses, so that's a plus. Our setup has us sitting about 15 feet from the TV and I was able to get a signal anywhere in the room, so it does it's job well. And it wide transmission angles are well demonstrated as we position the transmitter not in the most ideal location as described below. My biggest worry before getting the transmitter was if the cord was long enough. We have the 55NX-810, and the transmitter outlet on that model is near the very top of the TV. We want the transmitter sitting on a shelf of the TV stand about 6 inches below the TV. Well that's where the transmitter is now because the cord is indeed long enough. It's a whole 6-Feet long so plenty for anywhere around the TV. It stand well enough on it's own and we don't use the double sided tape. We just place it behind the Wii transmitter and it just tall enough to transmits above the Wii..So I mean if you own a 2010 Sony 3D TV and you want to make the most of your TV you kind of have no choice but to get this transmitter. Good thing is it does it's job and it's decently priced. If you have a 2011 TV you have no need for this thing.4 stars because it works......not 5 stars simply because it should have been built in an not a separate purchase in the first place.

Works perfectly for my Sony 3D TV
I bought this for my Sony 3D TV (NX810) and it works perfectly. There is a setting for where you mount this (TV level, below or above). Make sure to change it as needed as the quality of the 3D is better when set correctly. The cord length is long so you have plenty of choices on where to mount this. I do see some ghosting sometimes but that could be my TV or glasses. I would recommend this if you need it.
