And does Sakuragi Hanamichi have what it takes to show the team that he can be a great player?Meanwhile, after the game, a troublemaker named Ryota Miyagi has been released from the hospital and he also happens to be a member of the Shohoku High School basketball team (thanks to his infatuation with Ayako, the team manager). Similar to how Hanamichi feels protective towards Haruko, Ryota feels the same for Ayako. But what happens when he mistakes Sakuragi as a guy trying to hit on Ayako. And can these two hot heads co-exist with each other?With volume 6, you get another exciting and enjoyable volume of “Slam Dunk”! The characters are awesome, the story is well-written and Takehiko Inoue just knows how to capture basketball on the pages of “Slam Dunk”.His illustrations have always been a highlight for me and I was always amazed of how he captured movements, the offensive and defensive stances to how the players penetrate the perimeter and score. The detail of Inoue’s artwork is just wonderful and I look forward to volume 6!Overall, “Slam Dunk” is an enjoyable manga series that is not just for basketball fans but for those who want a manga series that captures the spirit of basketball, competition, the strategy involved in the sport but a captivating storyline with cool characters that makes this series worth recommending!Definitely check this volume out!

Delivery is fast. (But I ordered 6,7, 9 at the same time. 8 wasn't available from the seller. Weird)I guess it's 2020 now. This product has been mass produced thru the years. The quality of stock paper used feels weird. It's like a paper quality used for newspaper in 80s/90s. It's a minor thing. I had volumes 1 to 5 since 2005 and the stock paper quality of those is smooth.The English translation is ok. The -kuns, senpais have been removed. Coach Ansai calling Hanamichi, "Mr. Sakuragi" instead of "Sakuragi-kun" sounds weird to me. Not to mention, there's one panel of Rukawa saying, "I didn't touch them" felt off. I think that panel should say, "I just wanna step them." It gives this cute yet petty conflict between Hanamichi and Rukawa.

Comparada a primeira tiragem, esta reimpressão tem péssima qualidade. A gramatura do papel é super fina, as páginas parecem daquele papel de seda de caderno de educação artística, frágeis e mega transparentes, dando para enxergar tudo que foi impresso no verso.Os traços mudam drasticamente de contraste e definição de acordo com os capítulos no mesmo volume (isso não acontecia nos primeiros volumes que tenho da primeira versão que a Panini lançou).O valor de capa praticamente dobrou, mas as lombadas são mais estreitas, a encadernação é mais fina, a capa é mais mole, a espessura do papel é muito menor. A páginas coloridas são feia, parece que tá tudo manchado e desbotado. Isso não é por ser uma obra antiga, porque os volumes 1 ao 3 que tenho, que são da primeira versão, não têm coloridos feios assim. Parece que foi impresso em máquinas residências antigas.Na estante, colocando os volumes lado a lado, não parecem serem da mesma coleção.O pior é que Real custa 5 reais a menos, mas tem páginas coloridas com papel couche, páginas mais grossas, capa mais dura. A Panini fez isso propositadamente para lucrar mais, sabendo que muitas pessoas esperavam essa reimpressão e comprariam, porque daria para ter entregue um material melhor pelos absurdo 34,90 cobrados. Eu não compro mais. Irei completar aos poucos na medida em que for encontrando os volumes que faltam usados da primeira impressão.

The media could not be loaded.  Essa reimpressão da panini feita na gráfica São Francisco só demonstra o descaso da empresa para com seus leitores. Qualidade do papel péssima, transparência, páginas quase saindo e finíssimas. Cobram um preço absurdo e aumentos todos os anos e entregam uma qualidade pífia. Essa gráfica SEMPRE tem algum problema e eles insistem nela.

Como um mangá sobre basquete pode ser tão divertido? Desenhos fantásticos, narrativa fluida e boas piadas...ah, e um pouco de romance e porradaria. O basquete é só o pano de fundo de uma história maior sobre amizade, disciplina e dedicação.
