This enclosure works well.

I really like the cabinet. It keeps the drive cooler than a drive without a fan. This is important because the speed drops when the drives software detects the drive is getting hot (Thermal Sensor). The reason I deducted 1 star was due to the fact that the software in the cabinet does not pass the hard drive information to the computer. For example, if you purchase a Samsung drive and want to use the cloning software it will not detect the drive as a Samsung and prevents you from using the cloning software. Western Digital and Seagate utilities will not detect it as their drive and limit the use of their software.If you are not concerned about using any of the drive utilities, I would definitely recommend purchasing this cabinet. It this is a concern then I would look for another cabinet.

I added a 1TB nvme SSD and was able to Immediately access, partition and format. Backed up my laptop before sending it off for keyboard repairs. Super fast - 35-40MB/s transfer and the fan kept it nice and cool for the hour+ it took to back up my data.

My Device identified as a Realtek RTL9210 NVMe/USB 3.1 Controller. Macrium Reflect saw the NVME drive in the Fideco but I could not initialize and format the NVME drive. Just Google "rtl9210 firmware Version 1.25.7" and run the executable and point it to your Fideco device and it will upgrade the firmware to 1.25.7 in your Fideco and then your NVME SSD will be able to be initialized and formatted or cloned. Be sure to remove your NVME drive from the Fideco before you upgrade the firmware in the fideco. Just hook the Fideco to a USB port without the NVME drive in it, and the upgrade the firmware to 1.25.7 and then the Fideco will work fine.

The provided cables do not work at 10gbs, only 5gbs.It was completely unstable on a 10gbs port, and sometime it wouldn't even connect.At first I thought it was a faulty product, so I sent the first one back, but the second one had the same issue. After some deduction and making sure it was not my computer, it was the provided cables. If you want to 10gbs you might need to use/get your own good cable.This might explain some of the issues others have experienced.Otherwise the enclosure is as advertised.

Easy to install...and FAST! I, have a late 2015 iMac with a fusion drive that has started to get annoyingly slow with later Apple updates. Adding this device plus a Samsung NVME SSD brought it back to super snappy life. The other benefit is extending my computer life by another 3 years. Super happy!

Would buy again. Purchased another product and my drive couldn't be recognized. This one worked right away, and I love the fan and vents as opposed to one's that are closed off.

Thought it would keep my nvme drive cool. I think it made it hotter. Disconnected many times while transferring about 700gb of data, from another usb drive. Tried many different port combinations, usb controllers, cables, computers, and even phone but could not stay connected long enough to transfer data. Used it with a Samsung Evo 970 2tb. The longest without disconnections was about 170 gb with the cover off and a fan underneath.

Llegó en la fecha indicada, le puse un módulo NVMe de 256 y funciona muy bien, si mantiene más fría la unidad ya que el ventilador le ayuda mucho.

Its a great device for me as I can use it to test or reformat NVME and SATA SSD drives. Also handy to read or recover files from a damaged device using M2 SSDs

Le doy 4 estrellas porque no funcionó con un SSD m.2 nvme pci-e Western Digital de 1 TB, aunque la descripción dice que si lo lee. Llegué a pensar que el SSD (nuevo) había llegado en mal estado.Volví a intentar con un Lite-On CV8-8E128 128 GB M.2 2280 SATA 6Gb/s SSD y funcionó.Por cierto el SSD de Western Digital funcionó sin problema al instalarlo en mi laptop.Se ve muy padre el miniventilador que tiene, les dejo una imagen.
