Clue Junior Game

As soon as my child saw this, we had to play! He loved it! It's fun to really play up the mystery and add to the excitement of solving the case. For the Junior version, it is nice that it deals with who ate the cake. What child doesn't like cake? It takes some time and practice to get the hang of how the game is played so it may work best to pair with an adult until the child is ready to play on their own.

We started playing this when my daughter was 7 years old. She's has a fairly logical mind and loves solving mysteries and this fit the bill. It was very easy for her jump right in and start to play with just a little bit of instruction. Setting up the board takes a few steps that you do need to follow correctly in order, but they were easy enough she could do them all as long as I told her what to do next. There is a random element to the game both in who the culprit will be/which room/which drink as well as the use of the die for movement, so every game is different. You do not have to use nearly the amount of deductive reasoning to figure things out as you have to use in the adult version of Clue. In this one gameplay truly boils down to who can examine each person and room fastest, provided everyone crosses off their findings on the list each round. It took us a bit to remember to always check off TWO things on the list each time we had a turn, sometimes we would forget and only check off one, then have to go back to repeat what we missed later. Nice family game, not nearly as boring for adults as Candy Land gets, for instance.

i bought this for a 6 year old. A 9 year old and I were very confused by instructions. also, the stickers that we were to place on plastic mark didn't stick. total waste of time. we gave up and never played. way to confusing ! we had much better luck with kids version of LIFE.

3 adults all felt it was WAY too complicated! Did not enjoy it at all. 10 year old played with us, but am going back to original clue game!

The kids love this game! We play MANY games, and this one is a big hit with the kids (all under 10). I even enjoy playing it with them.

The game is good and my kids love it. I just didn't realize that there are different versions. There's a cake one and a dog one. This is who ate the cake

This is a little difficult and confusing for a seven year old.

Kid loves it, good for constructing his problem solving skills.
