Wonderful Prequel
This is the prequel to the Chipman series. I have been receiving the author's emails for some time now and am glad to see this book.The beginning is amazing. What happens is hard to believe today. That humans used to be scared of their shadows.Disbelief is suspended for almost the entire book, but it is clear a lot of research was done. One part in particular had my hand over my mouth so the, "oh, no!" didn't escape.As a prequel, this book is outstanding! I love the Chipman family, and so should you. A great deal of lesser known or forgotten American history is here.Try this book. You will be astonished by how much it captures your heart and your imagination!!!
