Caution, controlling module overheats and begins to melt through the plastic case on the cable portion.
Update 10/20/2016 Angela from EVECO contacted me via email today. A new module has been shipped to my mailing address. After it arrives, I will update the review accordingly. She mentioned that she forgot to email me with status after receiving my poor review and shipping the replacement.I bought this back in July. It is now October. I have used it three times. There is a plastic module between the battery pack and the jumper clamps. This module has a LED status display . I assume it has some polarity circuitry to prevent connecting the cables incorrectly. On the third use, this module got hot to the touch and the plastic case began melting (bubbling). I have an email out to EVECO but I have not heard back after two days. There is no other

Just jumped my 6.7l diesel by itself!
I am impressed! Not 10 minutes ago, this thing jumped off my 6.7l power stroke F-350 diesel by itself. I've had 2 trucks hooked up it with jumper cables before and the process took over an hour to get finally get the truck started, but I just did it in under a minute with this jumper. So far, it's started at least 25 vehicles, all full size trucks or suv's without a single hitch. I just never imagined it could kick over that diesel by itself! What did suprise me though: It went from a full, fresh charge to completely dead after jumping the diesel. I hope it didn't kill it, but I've definitely gotten my money's worth and will gladly buy another if this one is dead now.

It really starts trucks!
One of those things you must always have with you when camping with a bunch of friends is a jump battery. Someone somewhere will always need a jump and they're parked in the trees so it's always hard to get another car in there close enough to run cables. So I'm always prepared to help my friends out if they kill their battery over the weekend. The one I had (lead-acid, large) was getting old, so I went online and searched out the latest hotness, and found this one. Flashlight, recharges cell phones (many many times), 12-Volt socket, Lithium-ion (meaning it will stay charged for a really long time), but could it really start cars and trucks after a long weekend at the campsites? This weekend the opportunity presented itself (as it usually does) to jump a truck that was pulling a trailer. These modern trucks have more lights on them than a Christmas tree, and just going in and out of the truck all weekend long took a heavy toll on the battery. So I pulled out my Eveco and showed it my friend, and to say the least, we was very skeptical. He told me he would be very impressed if this little thing started his truck. We hooked it up, got the green light that the connection was solid and correct (self-protection circuits will prevent you from hooking it up wrong). and my friend preceded to turn the key and the truck started right up. His jaw hit the grass. And of course, I was very pleased that my money had been well-spent! He finished packing, all along telling everyone how my tiny jump starter worked on his truck. He asked me to send him a link so he could get one. With it being so useful and compact with everything you need right there in the zip-up case, it's just a no-brainer to carry one in your car always.

Beware of using DC-AC inverters
I had a dead battery on my wife's car and had tried to jump start it with one of those standard 25 pound jump starters that would not turn the engine over (turned out the battery had 2 bad cells). Called AAA and the guy jumped it with one of these. When I first saw him connecting it up I thought "you have got to be kidding me". He told me he had thought the same thing when his boss had told him to try it out. He said he can jump 7/8 vehicles before a recharge and that he has jumped up to full size pickups with V-10 engines. That told me I need to get one of these. I haven't had to jump anything yet, but I'm ready. There is one disappointing feature to this unit. My wife and I set up at various shows on weekends and this unit comes with an attachment that connects up to the DC output port and allows you to connect a standard car DC-to-AC converter. We wanted this to keep a laptop charged. I tried this and all I got was a red light on the converter. I tested the converter in my truck and it worked fine. I used a DVM and checked the voltage in my truck and it was 12.4 vdc. I checked the output of the Eveco unit and it was 15.4 vdc. My inverter has an over-voltage protection circuit that shuts the inverter down. I had to search for an inverter that had a wider input voltage range and it is difficult to find one, but I found one that has a 10-17 vdc input spec (BIXPower BX-AM155) here on Amazon. It should work out OK. This part is a poor design as almost every inverter I've seen operates off a vehicle battery (12-14 vdc). It should have been designed with a 12 volt regulator built into the device. Other than that it seems to be well built and a very useful device.

Am very pleased with this product in every way
Had an issue of battery going dead in 2 days and wanted a means to get started and go if this should happen unexpectedly. Had a dead battery that only measured 5.6 volts. Hooked up this unit and the car started immediately. It is reassuring to know that I will not be stranded and have to call for road service. Am very pleased with this product in every way. It also contains cables to use for cell phones, computers, etc if their battery were to run low. Would highly recommend it based on my current experience.

Very Helpful Product
The Eveco Jump Starter worked great as I had to use it once already. You must make so that cables are securely connected to the battery. The jump starter started up my car on the second try after I reconnected the cables. The only bad thing about it is the bag that it came it as it was hard to get the Eveco Jump Starter out of the bag's strap that was only it. It was also hard getting it back into the strap.

Would buy again
We used this for the first time when camping to charge our cell phones, portable back up phone charger and other miscelaneous electronics. We quickly re charged it from our solar panel within three hours. We love the extra multi charging cable that comes with it. It has quit a few connectors but we used the mini USB and iPhone lightening connector. I can't say what the long term product will be like but so far I would recommend it to others. The instructions say to make sure and recharge it idealy every 3 months but max no longer than every 6 months when not in use.
