Shake Away 5006358 Rodent Repellent Granules, 5-Pound

No lie. No joke. My husband has sprinkled this on our lawn several times. We had not used any in a couple years for our vole issue…but this winter was a different story. The what seemed like miles on raised tunnels protruding from the ground, I bought some fresh shake away and my husband sprinkled it and a couple days later, went over the raised tunnels with the rider mower. NOTHING new has popped up. This happens every time it’s used. Yes, it’s pricey, but it totally works for us. We have 2/3 acre lot and it works like a charm! And it seems like they don’t come back for at least a year. I have recommended this stuff to many folks for skunks, even getting Mom some for her around her house. It worked! If you have a bad mole or vole issue, I highly recommend this amazing and natural product.

Applied an entire container to a small area. The found was fully covered. Only 5min after applying the chipmunks sat in it, ran thu it…zero impact! Do not buy!

Have a problem with chipmunks burrowing(or just digging holes) in my yard, very close to the house. Called my local pest guy and he suggested using this product. He did warn me (as do the directions) that I'll need to apply this product several times, so buy a big container, and buy several of them, as i'm supposed to apply 2x/week for 2 weeks, then once every two weeks as maintenance. Was very surprised at how much product I spread. I applied it in the 4 holes near my house, then under the deck(just tossed a handful under there), and then sprinkled lightly around the entire house. I used the whole 4lb or 5lb (whatever size i bought) container. The next 2 days, noticed that i didnt hear any chipmunks, nor did i see any around the backyard. I'm waiting for jugs 2 and 3 of this stuff to be delivered tomorrow, to make sure that i get those chipmunks to stay away. So far so good, i'm wondering if i'm forever supposed to use this stuff.Also it does have a slight mediciny smell but not like urine. it's not that noticable, and my wife and 3 girls didnt' comment on the smell or anything.

I live in a residential suburb of NYC. We've had a cat for most of the 35 years here (not the same one, lol), so the rodent problem didn't impact. After my most recent pet passed away at the age of 15, it took the mice about 10 months before they read the obituary and realized that my house was available and cat-free. I tried glue traps, old-school wooden traps (with every bait suggested on the web sites and surgical gloves so that the "human" scent wouldn't tip them off), "humane" box traps, and real peppermint oil, with minimal success. Then I found a post about SHAKE AWAY and gave it a try. I sprinkled it around the outer walls, in the door and window frames, in and around the outside of the A.C.s, and down the sewer access box in the basement. FANTASTIC !!!!! Within a week the rustling noises and droppings disappeared. Made the mistake of passing on the remainder a couple in Brooklyn and now I have to buy it again for the current winter invasion.

When the product arrived I open it to find the canister was packed sideways in a box and the lid had come off, being that there was no seal most of it had emptied into the box and the small amount of paper packing so, I lost a fair portion of the product. Otherwise I like the product and have used it many times but, at this price you can’t afford to lose any.

This product worked perfectly for us. The only drawback was having to constantly reapply either due to rain or time passed. Mice are persistent and would come if we didn't apply it for a long time. We have Have-A-Heart traps and would release them 1 mile away from the house but others would pick up the scent and find their way in if we didn't apply it. However, in the times we were consistent, the mice stayed away. It becomes costly to constantly apply so after 3 years of this, we just decided to hire a company to install a critter barrier on our house. So far it's been 100% effective. We still have our humane traps set up just to be sure as it's only been a month and the real cold weather is still to come.

I am in the first week of using the product and the rodents haven't left, so not sure if it will work. The package came open in the box with material spilled out so I won't get the full product usage. This seems to be a recurring problem for this quantity. Update: I've had the product out for several weeks now and it doesn't seem to have impacted the infestation in my attic. We still hear them consistently. In addition to using the large container and doing two treatments, we bought some of the pre-packaged (group of 4) product and put some of them out as well. It smells nice, but doesn't seem to deter the rodents.

I tired of the damage done by the chipmunks, voles, and squirrels and just tossed my hat into the ring by purchasing this product. I also had already put down grub control so that was ruled out as the cause of so many critters. I saw a decrease after the first shaking around the perimeter of the house. Two weeks later, I had reordered a larger quantity and applied the entire amount. Two days after: all of them were nowhere to be scene. I reordered and applied 3 weeks after that and I continue to have zero activity. I am skeptical of anything, especially with a name like 'Shake-Away', but I am a true believer! I would not hesitate to purchase it again. But you HAVE to reapply as they say.
