I like the way this product looks but was not pleased with a few things. I make 1 lb loaf breads and it seems it is too small for this because I must hold the loaf as I slice. Depending on the surface I place the product on the unit moved around while slicing. I would be a better improvement if the base had something to prevent it from moving while cutting and a widget to make the loaf not move while cutting. Otherwise I was please with how easily this is to clean and store.

Great idea, but the sides wobble when cutting the bread. The easiest way to solve that is to put the divider near the halfway spot on the slicer, and then you're good to go.Don't forget that one needs a very long knife to cut bread with this slicer. I will say that the slicer makes for, to me, perfectly sized pieces of bread. I hated cutting my homemade bread free-handed, as the slices didn't come out evenly.

I had to take it apart and sand the collapsible pieces down, otherwise I would not have been able to unfold it. It works fine now though.

Three major problems with this slicer, first, way too wide for any normal bread loaf. Being too wide, the bread slides back and forth, making a clean cut nearly impossible. Second, sides way too short for bread machine loaf, start cutting at the top and then hope to hit the guide, if I wanted to freehand cut the slice, I wouldn't need a slicer. Finally, splinters with near zero pressure, each of the slices ended up generating a splinter in the guide.

Little bit not so stable when using'

First time we used it, the bottom was chewed up and we could taste the wood finish in our bread. Not worth the price. I guess we should have purchased a better one with a hard plastic bottom.

Just received this and sliced some bread and it seems to work well for our needs.
