I bought a small for my almost 7 year old, and they work well. He wears a size 2 shoe and is a little over 4 ft tall. Just a couple things: they are very long, reaching above the knee (we just fold them down to solve) and they do not have much side-to-side stretch (this is good for staying in place but makes them difficult to put on and take off- it's hard for my son to do it by himself).

I wear a size 81/2 women’s shoe & the Med is perfect. They go over shin guards easily & fit snugly. I like the thickness because it makes my mountain biking shoes comfortable. I’ve risen in the heat & they are fine for that. Very satisfied & hope they hold up. Some reviews indicated that was a problem for them. Very nice socks for a very reasonable price.

These socks help keep you warm when bicycling in cold weather, yet allow freedom of movement for your lower extremities. Black color helps absorb solar radiation on cold sunny days for added warmth. Very comfortable and made of durable woven materials.

These are just too big and thick. I saw the other reviews that they ran big but thought we could make do with it, however, they are SO thick it makes it difficult to get the soccer shoes on. They are also really long and go up so high.
