Love this series
I never write reviews but I feel compelled to write one for this book. I have read all the books in the dowser series and love them all. This book was not an exception. Each book in the series has been full of adventure, snark, witty commentary and wonderful characters. I haven't read the oracle or reconstructionist novels, so i felt a smidge lost when it came to Kett and what he has been up to, but it didn't take away from my enjoyment. I loved this story line and the ending. I can't wait for the next book. It definitely left me wanting more!

3-4 stars
This series has been growing by leaps. And bounds. MCD is talented , creative, funny, and brutal. I liked this latest Dowser, but I was always waiting for the story to start. It's almost as if this was a segue, an interlude between book 6 and book 8. A hot mess of new characters were introduced, lots of explaining was done, and plenty of innuendo was thrown around. This was more of a teaser book for me, setting the scene for a richer Vancouver Universe. A bit of 'splainy fluff.Good book by a great writer, but I wanted more of a meal out of this much awaited arrival.

Magic, monsters, cupcakes. Oh my!
I love this world Meghan Ciana Doidge has created. With every new release I reread the whole series again. Even the 'spin-offs'. Never does the Dowser series get old and each book is so entertaining. Book 7 begins a new adventure in Jade Godfrey' s life. I can't wait to see where things go from here. The only downside: my cupcake consumption goes through the roof while I read the series. Well maybe that's more a bonus. If you like cupcakes, magic, monsters, and adventure read this series. Cupcakes are optional but I advise having some on hand.

love this series
Another great story with possible new baddies. Jade has her engagement party. Her Gran is trying to manipulate her and her power. Gran is not always the good guy. The book does not resolve at the end, but it is fabulous. This is a definite must buy series for any urban fantasy fan.

More perfection added to this great series
I love this series, and this book added perfectly to it. I love the way Meghan splits the series up in groupings of 3 so it's a new 'big bad' every 3 books instead of just 1 protagonist being worked up. It's like a fresh new storyline being carried over and built on every 3 books (this being book 7, so a new chronicle in Jades storyline). This universe she has created doesn't get old. It's great that we're able to be introduced to new spin-off characters with their own story lines. I'm exited to see what comes of some particular new characters that were introduced in this book. It was also nice to have a reunion of sorts after the fallout of what happened in the Reconstructionist spin-off series that was recently concluded by our talented author. And a side note: Kett, who has been a constant in this series and always had a piece of my heart, and he stole a little bit more of it by seeing how much of his heart belongs to Jade by being vulnerable enough to show how much her opinion of him matters to him. After everything that has happened to him, I'm looking forward to seeing a little bit more of his humanity shine through in the series. This supernatural world created it our modern world is a perfect balance. I love this series, and I will be loyal to it for life.

Back to Jade's Story
This world is so engaging, and it was nice to "come home" to Jade, the original of the main characters. I'm desperate, still, for some updates on the outcomes of the characters we met in the Reconstructionist trilogy, but we get hints here.As a warning - I forgot how much these book talk about cupcakes. Needless to say, I will be buying a dozen at my next earliest convenience. So much cupcake talk. So much... Anyway! We join Jade as she is going about her "normal" life. She's engaged to a Warner, opening a new bakery, and helping Gran with witchy things. Too bad things can't stay normal in her life for too long, though she would probably get bored if they did. In this book, while we don't get all the answers and we don't get everything wrapped up, it generally revolves around weird magical flares. That doesn't sound so bad when I write it out.We spend the majority of the time with Jade as she navigates her love life, Kett's newest development, a massive engagement party, and hunting down the source of her itchy feet. We meet new characters, visit with old, and do glorious battle. All in all, it was pretty much a day (or day and a half?) in the life of the dowser. I still want to punch most of the guardians in the face while eating cupcakes, so it must be a traditional dowser storyline.

Chocolate and charm!
Another wonderful installment in the Dowser series from Meghan Ciana Doidge. If you have not read the previous books, you might want to go back and start from the beginning...otherwise there's a lot of catching up to do. But for those who've been reading the series, this is both a satisfying continuation and exciting start to a new series of events. The only slight negative is Warner...he's just so plastic and one-dimensional, and unsatisfying as the "boyfriend/fiancee." Other than that, I'd give it all thumbs up.

As Warned, Cliffhanger Ending
I read the first six books of this series Ina binge and throw trilogy wasn’t out yet- i just discovered it exists and was so excited to hang out with Jade, Kandy, and Kett again! I love this universe and the characters, but this book had a ton of build up and then ended right when the action started. I guess we have to get the next book to get to the fun part. Kinda crappy considering how all the other books ended. Also, I’m really bummed out that she’s going to end up with Warner. I don’t like them together, and I was hoping they’d fall apart. :/

Brilliant stories
This series of books are great. Who could want more than cupcakes and elves, vampires, werewolves ... you name it they are in it. Great for taking you away from the drudge of what has been a grotty time - ultimate escapism. My only complaint is that they are not long enough & I keep having to buy the next one, and the next...you get the picture ;)

Fantastic read!
Jade is back! The author has the gift of creating strong, interesting characters and then embroiling them in outstandingly unique and creative adventures. Every one of the books in this series grabs you from the start and keeps you enthralled to the very end. My only regret is that I finish them too quickly because I can never put them down.

Great read
As always Meghan Ciana Doidge delivers another entertaining read. I love her books but the Dowser series is definitely a favourite. The only downside, if you can call it that, of her books are that once you start reading you don’t want to stop.
