SR442001 Drum Throne

Perfect for the money!

I bought this for an acoustic guitar gig requiring being seated for up to three hours. It became uncomfortable after one hour, as the seat padding is too thin, at least for my needs. It is built well enough for the price, but I ended up buying a more comfortable throne which suits my needs far better. The height is good, though, so maybe for someone weighing less than 200 lbs. it would be fine.

First off, this is great for beginners, especially of the not-so-large sort, and certainly one of the cheapest you will find. here is the thing. The throne I have (well, had) was very similar to this one. There are only a couple differences. On the other one, I could tighten the seat onto the shaft. On this one, you can't. So the seat spins around freely. Not a huge deal. Similarly, on my old one, the bottom braces tightened to the shaft as well. Again this one does not do that, however, When I unfolded the tripod, it seemed sturdy enough that it wasn't going anywhere. Minor details. The only thing that i'm really concerned about is the seat. it seems to me that the seat is basically a wooden plank, topped with foam and wrapped with leather. A basic everymans seat, nothing fancy. My old one was exactly the same, and the wood ended up cracking really bad, hence the need for a new throne. to clarify, I am a 250 pound man who likes to sit on the edge of the seat. I will try to change my sitting habits and hope that my fat butt wont break another throne.

This product is solid.

My almost-grown grandson is happy with it, though I had my doubts about sturdiness. For the price, I'll give it five stars.
