13 inch seat diameter? No, it's not! Still, a good throne and a great value.
Not exactly as described! I'll get to that part later, but firstly, it is a high quality throne and a really good value. Very secure. No problems whatsoever with seat slippage. The height of the post is held reliably with a pair of locking clamps. One clamp is tightened by a wing nut and the other via drum key.Reasonably sturdy seat too, but not entirely perfect. There is a minor wobble detectable unless the top of the post is fully clamped tight. Really, this isn't a problem. Normally, it would be tightened down. That said, if fully tightened, then there's no way to swivel. Can't knock it though. It's simply not designed to swivel. The upshot is that if you must have some swivel, you may loosen the clamp as a workaround. Perhaps, it's a feature in this way.Now to the bad description, and this is the only significant disappointment. The seat diameter is in actuality just barely 12" and more like 11.5" (see photo) but definitely not nearly the 13" as advertised. Otherwise, the padding is plenty thick and plush, and for an under $30 throne, it's solid. Therefore, 4/5 stars given the low price point.

Good for the price
It works. I am not sure how to adjust the seat honestly. Maybe I put it in backwards. Im a musician not an engineer.

Unbelieveably great for the money
I can't believe I got this at Amazon at the price I gave. Much better than ones about $30-$40. Tightening the wing nut alone won't hold the post with my 250 lbs. sitting on it. But that's why it has the memory lock shown in the photo. It holds fine with that put in place and tightened. The padding is great, I just wish the seat was larger than 12" in diameter (deduct 1 star though 12" is standard for a low-priced throne). My primary throne cost $179 so this is a great.

Great throne for the price. Well built and heavy duty.
Excellent throne for the money. Heavy duty, and built very sturdy. The seat is well padded, and not too hard. All the hardware seems like it will last a long time, and the chrome plating feels heavy & durable. It feels like a drum throne that should cost much more. I will be using it for playing guitar and piano, so I won't be moving much while sitting on it, but as a drummer, I have no doubt that it is built heavy enough for rockin out on a trap set for hours at a time. It has a locking collar that you use a drum key to tighten, and this assures that it will not slowly lower you down as you play. If you play heavy metal with your heels never touching the floor, you might get some flex in a rotational way, but it definitely won't rock side to side or feel like you're gonna tip over.

Dont buy for: recording, or live performances
Unless certain things are tightened untill your destroying the threads the stool becomes loose and falls. Also worth mentioning: its squeak factor. I bought this hopeing for it to be the go to for handpan recording, but produces so much sound its quieter to just sit on my bed.Dont get me wrong it has thick steal, feels, and looks clean to the naked eye, but it is not ideal everythingAll in all would have liked just a lil bit more thought into the stool for the 50 bucks I spent.

Great throne for the price!
Perfect lil throne. The best part is the locking mechanism for the height. You don't have to use those cheap wingnuts in those crappy pre set holes other cheap thrones give you. You can actually custom fit the height to your satisfaction which is important for comfort and support. And the seat itself is padded very well. The base is sturdy and easy to use. Overall this is a great throne for any level of players. If you're looking for something light weight and reliable. This is your go to throne!!

This item sucks. Do not waste your money on this drum ...
This item sucks. Do not waste your money on this drum throne. I only weigh 160lbs and this item gradually slides down in the middle of me playing on my set. It doesn't matter how much one tightens this throne it will consistently slide down.

Very very happy with this purchase
I found this to be a really great deal, and very sturdy and well made. You do need a drum key to adjust a collar on the stem. There was some discoloration on the metal bracket under the seat. This doesn't affect its performance, and is not visible when it is being used. I found this drum throne to be beefy and thoughtfully made.

or maybe I'm too fat but it feels like the seat is tipping off when I first sit ...
The pad is too squishy, or maybe I'm too fat but it feels like the seat is tipping off when I first sit on it. Holding together just fine though. The Bach rest ones are probably better but way too expensive
