Can't get them to work. I've tried rinsing them with distilled water, tap water, and even soaking over night. When you first put them in water, it seems to repel. I don't think that's supposed to happen. They always leave a metallic taste and an off odor to my water, as opposed to the ones that came with the distiller. Does any have any info on where to by good working ones?

I happy with my purchase of Ifilters. The first time I used one, water tasted good and there was no smell in the water. That was the most important detail to me! The charcoal filters remove any lingering taste from my distilled water. I make sure to change the filter once a month for the good tasting water.

These filters are the worst, they leave a very strong chemical taste in the water, disgusting! I distinctly taste dioxin most likely from the chlorine bleaching of the paper pulp. Unacceptable, these are used to distill water, they add up to 20ppm contaminant in my water. don't buy them.

I put one in water to soak it before use and no charcoal color came out at ALL! They have a smell to them that makes me sick, like dead fish...they repel water! I don't know what these are made of but its horrible and this was the worst purchase I ever made! I can't get my money back because I've had them over 30 days because I was using the ones that came with distiller. The ones with distiller had no smell to them and black came out when they were rinsed! These are not charcoal!

This is my first experience with a distiller, so I did no know what to expect with the filter. The filter that came with the unit produced an intermittent stream. When I changed it, the output became droplets. Now, after a few weeks of daily use, the output is beginning to trickle in a intermittent stream and so I am assuming that it is more effective than the original one and now needs to be replaced.
