Allow enough time to dry!
Short and sweetAs far as providing convenient all in one way to hang cloths while on the road this is a great product. However, we never successfully dried our cloths overnight. That of course is not the clotheslines fault. Why I chose this productI wanted a clothesline for an upcoming mid-duration trip and for future travels as well. The deciding factor for choosing this item was its ease of use. The braided rubber cord meant that no clothespins would be needed and that the line could be stretched to fit various spans. Also, the hook and loop fasteners made it easy to attach.ImpressionsThe line went up without any fuss. I was really impressed that the fasteners held because it was stretched very tight on several occasions. The cloths themselves attached to the braided line easily and stayed put. The line though bigger than just bringing some cord functions nicely, weighs only 2.1oz(60g), and didn't break the bulk bank for our carry on only backpack traveling. The only disappointment was that we never seemed to be able to leave the cloths up for long enough for them to dry. My wife and I did our laundry the evening before and left the windows open. After breakfast we would come back and though the cloths were dryer than before, they needed several more hours which we did not have. So we would take them down, go out for the day, end up at our next location, and hang them up again. We were in Italy and France in May so perhaps the weather was not conducive to line drying our cloths. We are also not very experienced with proper line drying techniques (we did thoroughly ring them out though) so perhaps it was user error. We ended up just going to the laundry mat if we were on the move the next day and only using the line when we were going to stay more than one night.Pros-Variable length-Clothespins not required-Strong hook and loop fasteners-More convenient than finding a laundry mat-Saves moneyCons-Cloths may not be dry overnight-May leave wrinkles where attached to lineConclusionI rate this product four stars because I feel that the clothesline is thoughtfully designed and performed its purpose very well. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a travel clothesline. Just keep in mind that it may take longer than expected to dry cloths depending on the weather which of course is not the clotheslines fault. If there is something about this product that you would like to know just ask in the comment section and I will try to help. Happy travels.

Clothesline survived 13 months of around the world travel, still going strong
This clothesline is extremely versatile, packable and sturdy. In my opinion this thing is worth the money (I bought in 2010 @ 11.58 US, sold by Amazon) and space in your pack (about the size of one of your 3.4 oz TSA-approved liquid bottles when bundled). My wife and I traveled around the world for 13 months with 40L packs and this thing was indispensable. We used it nearly everywhere we went, from campsites, to hostels, to condos, flats, and houses; it was always useful when hand-washing clothes and packtowels, or just for air freshening stuff between washes. The only limit is finding the right points to attach the ends to, which is made all the easier by very strong velcro loops at each end (strangely missing from the product picture and description). The clothesline's braided elastic, as many reviewers have already noted, allows one to tuck a corner of the clothing between the braids, eliminating the need for clothespins. Another reviewer noted they didn't think this was necessary for their usage and that a simple cheap length of paracord would do the job with much less bulk, as draping the clothes would suffice without clothespins in indoor situations where clothes would not be likely to blow away. I would agree with that, depending on your needs. The Rick Steves clothesline is pricey, and can be limited by it's length, but when you just need to get something hung up in a matter of minutes and taken down to move to the next hostel on a daily basis, this thing just works. It is also not limited to indoor-only use. I have hung clothes on it outdoors numerous times. With the clothes tucked in well and the lines fairly taut, they will hold in a some pretty strong wind. And if you have quite a bit of laundry, it's possible to pack quite a bit into this line. I'd often hang items by a single point to pack in as much laundry as possible, then at one end, hang the items I needed sooner with a bit more space and less overlapping for quicker drying. This isn't as much of a problem if you wash regularly, but sometimes getting a few beers with your hosts is more important than doing laundry.Another sticking point for some situations is the length and tie off options. Supplementing this clothesline with a bit of previously mentioned paracord is a great way to expand your options and cover most of the situations you might experience, to make a quick loop around trees or other large objects or span spaces larger than the clothseline would allow. This can also allay some situations where attachment points might be too weak for the pull strength the stretched elastic can exert. You don't want to go ripping curtain rods out of the walls and into your face.I will probably replace it before I go on a long trip as it looks to be showing some signs of wear - elastic has some small abrasions, beginning to show when stretched, which I would have expected sooner from all the abuse I've put it through.

Nothing special
One end pulled off when stretched. Doesn't stretch that much, so doesn't hold much. I didn't see the benefit of the clothesline material.

Love it
We travel a lot in Italy and this is great to use on balconies or in bathrooms. Nothing blows away because the clothes are held between the plies of the clothesline, like clothespins would do.
