Great device, great price.
This is a fracking little device with loads of great features. The we battery lasts ages, the display is clear, you can choose what order to have your info appear on screen. The trackers are really impressive and easy to link to your phone. The strap isn’t great and it’s not as comfortable as a real watch but it’s a brilliant device at a great price.

Several years later....
Pretty decent for the inexpensive end of the band range.I bought this and an Honor Band 5(I sent the Honor model back)This was easy to setup from the app and updated within 5 minutes. I had to register an account with Xiaomi and that was it.Easy to use and to follow the on-screen instructions and prompts.Says it's water proof up to 5 atmospheres but I won't chance any electrics in water. It has a breathing exercise for the relaxation monitor and overall I'm okay with how long it lasted. The face popped off, exposing the inner electrics. I tried pushing it back down bit the clips wouldn't hold so it popped back open. Threw it in the bin.App was updated to a new brand in the meantime and works well.

Good cheap option when dipping your toe into the world of fitness trackers
Needing to lose a few pandemic pounds I decided to get fitness tracker to help me keep track of the weight I was, hopefully, losing. Not wanting to spend a lot of money on my first one as I wasn't sure how much use it would get I decided to give the Mi Band 5 a try.The device tracks heart rate, steps and sleep and can take Stress readings (although I'm still not clear exactly what that's measuring) triggered manually. The sleep tracking seems to be reasonably accurate but I think the step counter undercounts a bit as it doesn't seem to track, for example, my walk from the bedroom to the bathroom first thing in the morning. You can also tell it to record your workouts by type (I'm not sure how exhaustive the list of workout types is... I'm still working my way back to runnning so all of my workouts are brisk walks at the moment)The band can track your location using your phone's GPS for more precise workout data. However, this is dependent on your phone getting a clear GPS signal. I notcied that a few weeks after I got the band, when the leaves were back on the trees, it was reporting problems getting my location. The screen is also difficult to read in bright sunlight (forget about it if you have sunglasses on) and notifications don't seem to last that long, which can make it hard to figure out what the notification was about. The data the device records is synched to your phone using the Mi Fit app, and on Android this can also be synched across to Google Fit if you prefer to use that to view your data. I ended up using both as the Mi Fit app goes into more detail about your sleep. You can also manually add your weigh in the Mi Fit app if you don't have a compatible scale. I have had to break the synching between the Mi and Google apps and re-establish it as data stopped migrating to the Google Fit.The band is reasonably comfortable to wear - I've managed to put up with wearing it 24/7 apart from when it's on charge. I get about a week's use out of the battery but I'm using the more frequent heart rate monitoring which uses more power. The charging cable plugs into USB-A but has a proprietary two pin connector to connect to the watch.I'd recommend this if you're just wanting to dip your toe in before going for a more expensive tracker that does more, just be aware of the limitations.

Great middle ground between watch and smartwatch
Nearly a month in of usage.Needed a low cost digital watch for everyday, something slim for my small wrist but not too boring, so bought this with some fun coloured bands and adjusted the screen design. I'm using it mostly as watch and very basic fitness tracking.I've been really pleased with the battery life between charges: currently on 43% with last charge 9 days ago with sleep tracking enabled. Means I don't have to worry taking an extra cable on holidays with me (which was a consideration when buying). I don't feel the Bluetooth connection is draining on my phone.Relatively simple to set up. Not used all of the fitness or notification settings. Just using heart rate, step tracking, alarm and sleep tracking on top of normal watch function. Easy to adjust the menus to not include the functions you don't need: until I did this, there were too many options to flick through.

Best Buy
I didn't expect much of this watch regarding the price was so cheap. But it's the best buy I've ever made fantastic quality and all the verity of features is unreal so much in such a small package at a small price. Two others out of my family have since purchased one also.

Excellent budget fitness band
Excellent budget fitness band. Battery life is fantastic. Only using it to make sure I hit 10,000 steps a day so haven’t explored other features yet. Yet to read instruction manual but looks easy enough to set up other features if needed.

Very poor battery life
I so wanted this to be a winner but found I was having to recharge it in less than 24 hours despite making sure it wasn't working overtime. It's replacement from another brand has now not been charged for 12 days. Big difference!
