We, my wife and I, drink a protien shake every morning and have for numerous years. We have tried several brands with most being good to very good. However, this Apex Perfect Sports is a great waste of time and money. It will not mix with milk as it only clumps. Even using water the mix is very poor. Additionaly, the taste is very bad with a strange after-taste. We tried to return the product but it is not eligible for returns. WIth little choice we will have to just throw it away and start over. This product does not blend very well. There aren't chunks or clumps but it is grainy, you can see it and feel the texture as you drink it.The calorie to protein ratio is pretty good and the price was right. Tastes like chocolate. So I'm more or less satisfied, I think Muscle Milk blends better though.Oh also I bought this because it is chocolate flavored, it says on the jug its "Chocolate Ice Cream". I can't tell the difference but I don't know what I would even be looking for. Tastes like chocolate.

A lot of people are complaining that this doesn't blend well, which if you are using a shaker bottle that may be the case. This is a protein powder you keep at home and use a blender for. Add a little more liquid than usual to loosen the thickness, and it tastes ok with water, but it's better with milk or a milk substitute. Also, this is one of the few proteins I can find that has such a small ingredients list, which is good! That means there isn't filler crap in it like maltodextrin or sawdust.

Overall, the product seems to work fine as a protein supplement. However, the flavor is terrible. I am not one to worry about the flavor of protein typically, but this is too much for me to overcome.The flavor seems to be an intense sunflower oil flavor, but it seems as if the oil has gone rancid. It could be that it is an issue with just my order (which was 6x 5lb tubs) but they are all well within their 'Best By" date on the containers. Also, every container has tasted just as bad. In addition to this, there is a strong bad/bitter aftertaste and if you mix it ahead of time, it will kind of coagulate into a tapioca/pudding consistency that is very not pleasant.There are some issues mixing this as well. It does not mix with anything warm. I have also not had luck getting it to mix with anything except water. As long as I am using cold or iced water and use at least 12oz per serving, it seems to mix fine.This would probably be a great option for someone who has no sense of taste. However, I would recommend it be avoided for anyone else.
