One Moment Please: A Surprise Pregnancy Standalone

I had high hopes....
I really wanted to like this book. So many times throughout this book I seriously considered putting it down and not picking it back up. The level of frustration and eye rolling that took place was immense.Neither lead was likable. I actually did not care about either one of them. Plus, the female lead was so stupid and näive that there was NO WAY in real life she'd make a credible counselor, let alone even graduate. She couldn't make a single decision on her own and was not a leader; only a follower. She navigated her entire life based on other people. She came over as a high school student, not a 27 yr old going for her master's in psychology.Add that to the fact that there was ZERO chemistry between the characters and this book became impossible to find anything to cling to, let alone anyone to root for. Also, the direct attack from the male lead's mother about the female lead's mother's Catholic religion was not only uncalled for but mentioned things in her insult that had nothing to even do with the characters or the situation presented in this book. As a Catholic, I found it agenda driven and absolutely unnecessary, as it added nothing to the scene except implied assumptions and hatred. It was yet another scripted moment that resonated more like filler material rather than a necessary incorporation of characters and information. It turned a moment that should have been pivotal to pointless.I really struggled with this book and wasnt a fan.

5 oh so needed this STARS!!
This book is exactly what I needed, at exactly the right time. A fun, romantic, laugh out loud read during the quarantine! I adore Amy Daws's writing style, it is super fun. Lynsey (love the spelling BTW) and Josh (aka Joshy, aka Dr Dick) have unbelievable chemistry. It is very fun to see their relationship develop against both their better judgements. As the book goes on, their relationship just get more and more enjoyable. If you have had enough of this quarantine, buy this book and go lock yourself in a closet somewhere and read this. That's my best advice. You know, because you asked for my advice. LOL

Laughs, Feels, and a HEA!
One Moment please is a rom com worth the wait! I'll be honest with you, rom coms are a hard genre for me to read and enjoy. I can't stand over the top or forced humor, but don't worry Ms. Daws did a fantastic job of making the laughs effortless and fun. Lynsey and Josh aka "Dr. D*ck" have an intriguing dynamic. They feed off of one another's energy. The result is playfully antagonistic, hilarious banter and powder keg passion. I mean these two come together and boom...a baby is on the way. Josh's closed off demeanor is in complete opposition to Lynsey's way of embracing life and its challenges head on. The more time these two spend together, the more their layers are peeled away. Love is a powerful force that can be resisted, but won't be denied. The conflict in this book is also multi-faceted. Not only do Josh and Lynsey have opposing views on relationships, they are both battling with their own internal vulnerabilities. The resolution that leads to their HEA is emotional, but it is also beautiful. This book made me laugh, cry, and savor the happily ever after!

I wish I had One More Moment with this book
I just finished One Moment Please by Amy Daws, and it is the BEST of the bunch in my opinion. In the midst of reading ARCs for other authors, I've been binge-reading/listening to Amy Daws. I need a little rom-com break from time to time, and I knew One Moment Please was coming so I decided to read the first two books in this series. And they were everything you love in a good rom-com: heroes who are a little emotionally immature but a strong, quirky heroine who challenges them to "fall," lots of fantastic smirky banter, and a story that is equal parts sweet, sexy, and sentimental. Then, Daws gives us One Moment Please, and I feel like she upped her game. This one is heavier emotionally than the first two books of the group. The hero, Josh "Dr. Dick" Richardson, is much more complex than the blurb allows. Obviously, people who use disdain and seem unapproachable have erected walls against something. And that is definitely the case with Josh. With every exceptional rom-com, the heroine, in this case, Lynsey, will have the Erector Set to demolish those walls. However, as the reader, you know that we must go through the pain to find a happy ending. The depth of emotion in this story is surprising and my favorite part of this book. There is still plenty of Daws's brand of humor, charcuterie boards, quirkiness, and awkward situations. Yet, it envelopes a story that quite frankly breaks your heart a little bit. This reader cried all the tears. In the end, though, the ending is so satisfying that it erases the hurt of the story.I had a really crappy day today, and One Moment Please was the biggest bright spot of it. Once I started it, I didn't do any work and read it straight through because it's just that good. Josh is Dr. Dick, but he is so much more. Lynsey's characterization is the brave awkward brand of heroine who can melt his icicle heart, though. Together, these two make the best kind of rom-com dream team.

Worth the wait!
Romantic Comedy PERFECTION.In typical fashion when reading a Daw’s book......I laughed, I cried, I clenched my thighs, I sighed dreamy sighs, and I fell in love with new characters all over again. It’s the truly perfect blend of romance, comedy, and drama and I read it all in one day in one sitting.I loved the fierce but soft demeanor of the leading lady. I loved the grumpy, brooding, what happened in the past leading man. It’s a perfectly adorable-make you smile-make your eyes water-work of romance art. I still have a Koolaid man smile after finishing this one.KelKel and Mel Tell

One Moment Please by Amy Daws a five-star read you would wait longer than a moment for
One Moment Please by Amy Daws a five-star read you would wait longer than a moment for. What can I say, I laughed (a lot), cried (a fair bit) and I smiled like a crazy person (so much more than normal, my husband asked if I was having a stroke). This was just the right story, at just the right time. Amy Daws has always produced amazing stories and I will be honest, I didn’t know if I was going to enjoy this one as surprise pregnancy are not always stories I enjoy for personal reasons, but this was done well and done us all proud. Thank you Amy for being an amazing writer as well as an amazing human being.

I need a moment please!
Laugh out loud funny and still somehow sweet and swoon worthy! One Moment Please is packed full of steam, FEELS, love, laughter and it's bound to bring a smile on your face!“"What do I have to do to make those red lips of yours shut up for any length of time?”"Maybe you should kiss me,”"I love Amy's writing style and her creativity. I'm a nurse so I particularly enjoyed reading an author that had clearly done some research before writing a both with a doctor for the male lead.I loved how Daws didn't have Josh fade into a sweet man, which is what I'm sure some would've preferred, upon hearing that he's about to be a father. The man stayed cold and cautious and all things considered, when you find out why, it's completely understandable. He was seemingly unfeeling and stubborn to the point of frustration but still lovable and HOT 🔥I loved Lynsey! Her fierceness, ambition, outlook and positivity. A clever and guarded heroine that was still so sweet and admirable. Not to mention, hilarious. That girls inner monologue had me laughing out loud!I loved the setting and the side characters. The family feel. The quirks of both Josh and Lynsey as individuals and just how epic they were together.A refreshing read for me and I highly recommend it. 5 stars, hands down! 🙌💙

Incredible
One moment please is an hilarious heart warming book that had me giggling while also adding heart wrenching moments that left a lump in my throat. Lynsey character was so warm with a sense of innocence about her that you can't help but get emotionally entrenched in the story. Dr Dick as you can probably guess is a sexy doctor with a dickish attitude and a whole load of baggage. The two of them have amazing chemistry. The story is written flawlessly, it capitates the readers and gets you emotionally invested. An absolutely breathtaking read.

Good characters and Lynsey is fun
Lynsey finds that sitting in the hospital cafeteria means her thesis gets written and just as she gets the job done she finds a grumpy doctor confronting her as to why she is there. They argue and she ends up dropping her favourite pie in his lap and walking away. They meets again in a bar and she is tipsy and they end up having a momentous night together with her sneaking out before he wakes. Three months later he is the doctor on call when she needs stitches and a blood test reveals a pregnancy. Lots of arguments ensue and grumpy doctor isnt pleased when she constantly ignores him. Its realistic in the way the story unfolds and she finds out what has made him so miserable and Josh realises she makes his life better.
