Q: Would this fit a ten year old?

If you use the full extent of the Velcro pads it will fit. There is plenty of adjustment. The only concern I would have for a ten year old is that the belt is a bit wide and the material isn't soft. There are other examples on Amazon which I think would be more comfortable.
