Great snack
This is my go-to snack at work now. The taste is very good and it satisfied my need for a snack and it has protein, which I am always looking for. I recommend this product.

Great substitute for a bowl of oatmeal, just don't let the word "cookie" fool you
Judged as COOKIE cookies, Erin Baker's Breakfast Cookies would be heavy and dense. But they're not. They're an alternative to a bowl of oatmeal (and MUCH better than the almost-as-expensive Quaker Oats Breakfast Cookies, which to us are practically inedible). According to my wife, they're indispensable for anyone with hectic mornings who CANNOT skip breakfast. She says they last her about as well as a standard size bowl of oatmeal.Based on reviews, we tried the Caramel Apple ones first. Heating benefits these more than the other varieties because it melts their little caramel "bombs". I don't like nuts, so I didn't try the Fruit & Nut ones. My wife says they're good too, but more along the lines of traditional hippie fare. They have a higher fat content than some flavors, as do the Double Chocolate Cherry. She would love to see these sour cherries make a solo appearance, without chocolate as a partner. The Gingerbread flavor is quite gingery, enough to overcome the inevitable molasses (which she doesn't care for). These last two flavors, along with Pumpkin Spice, are seasonal. She says of the three, she gives the Pumpkin Spice a very slight edge over the other two. When it comes to the sweet spices, we like them strong, and the Pumpkin has plenty cinnamon.Interestingly, the primary sweetener in all of these cookies is prune puree. My wife, who is not especially fond of prunes, doesn't notice it. Ditto for the chicory extract, which is also in all varieties. One important note: the instructions say to freeze the cookies right away, and that's what we do. If they could all be eaten within a few days, this might not be necessary, but since they last us awhile and are preservative-free, we want them in tip top shape. All we have to do is snip open the wrapper and pop them in the microwave for fifteen seconds. They're labelled "toaster friendly" but we haven't tried that. During wintertime, placing them on the dashboard with the defroster on high might even do the trick.

a cookie?
This item is not like any cookie I've ever met. I am not sure what to call it. It's large, 3 oz. and 300 calories. It looks like a thick patty. It is dense and chewy. I bought the double chocolate chunk flavor. It has a mild cocoa flavor with notes of prune and bitter coffee. It is only slightly sweet, and has a hint of medicinal quality. Though listed in the ingredients, I could not find a single chocolate chunk that was large enough to differentiate from the rest of the heavy, soft patty. Most of the doughy thing is chewable but there are small grains of something that are distinctly harder and got caught in the cusps of my molars. If you are too busy to enjoy your food or can't taste anything anyway, maybe these are for you. For me, when I spend 300 calories, even on the run, I want something that makes my mouth happy. Half a whole wheat English muffin, a tablespoon of natural peanut butter, half a banana sliced on top. All around better! And no messier to eat because these patties are crumbly and a slightly sticky. You'll have bits on your upholstry and traces on the steering wheel.Reformulate, Erin! Food should be a healthy PLEASURE.

no double chocolate or chunks to be found (but my kids LOVES them, and that's what counts)
Here's the deal with these cookies: my 11 year old daughter, who is a super picky eater and usually tries to skip breakfast, loves loves loves these and now eats one for breakfast every day without fuss. So because of that, they are the best cookies on the planet in my book. I asked her what her opinion is and she said "I love them, They are really yummy. They are easy to eat and easy to bring with me on the way to school. They taste really nice."HOWEVER, I gotta be honest- I tried one of these "cookies" and I thought it was ... well, pretty rough stuff. I'm 42 years old, a vegetarian for the last 30 years, and I'm whole-grain obsessed and I've eaten every kind of whole grain snack that's been on the market. I eat quite a lot of food that's fairly bland so my bar was not set high.I tried one of these to see if they would be a good replacement for the Z-Bar I snack on during the day. I don't know where "Double Chocolate Chunk" comes from, but the cookie I ate had not a single chunk in it, nor did it taste much like chocolate. It tasted sort of chocolate-y in a "vegetables and grains pureed and hidden in foods that is tinted to look like chocolate cake" way, but "Double Chocolate Chunk" felt like a tease. Like I said, I eat multi-grain everything, including baked goods, so my expectations weren't high. I was hoping for something moist and sweet. The cookie tastes like paper pulp with some chewy raisin-y/date-y factor (turns out to be prunes) and a bit of fudge-y flavoring that's not sweet. Ingredients say it's a big oatmeal cookie sweetened with prunes and mixed with chocolate but the cookie I ate didn't taste like oatmeal at all. I'm really very confused. Especially at almost 300 calories.I feel like this is the sort of food that you should BURN calories by eating.BUT, my kid loves them. Eats them enthusiastically. Her friends like them, too. So I will continue to enthusiastically reorder them and recommend them.I never thought I'd give anything called "Double Chocolate Chunk" anything less than five glowing stars, but I'm not sure what to think of these. Just don't get your hopes too far up.

Filling and delicious!!!!!
The price is excellent for the incredibly delicious and very filling processed food. I tried to eat the entire cookie for breakfast and couldn't finish it. It's that filling. Great with a cup of coffee. I ordered more and I'm subscribed.
