Q: how do they fit in the waist? is it stiff or stretchy? is there room for my muffin top? lol

I totally have a muffin top. I'm 5'1 and 230# so you can imagine lol and it fits good. A little tight when sitting down the first few times but they loosen as warn!! Amazing pants for real though

I am a size 18, so that's what I ordered. They wouldn't even fit over my hips. My Mom, who is a size 14, tried them on and they fit her perfectly. So I ordered a size 22 (2 sizes up) and they fit perfectly... most definitely order a size or 2 up.

They have a pretty good stretching at the waist. So if u like your pants to fit tight go for 14. If not go for 16. I bought 18 but I had to send it to get one inch tight it in my hips and waist. I'm a curvy girl but not a lot of stomach. So it depends on how u like it.
