It is nice and it works but the plastic rim around the tiop is cracking off after just a short time - not sure what will happen when it cracks completely off. We've only emptied it once! It does hold a lot! I think that I will return it for the same item and see if we just got a dud! The other problem is that when I grabbed the handler to emptiy it, the handle slipped out dumping part of the peelings out onto the counter. I pulled it a little further out and slipped it back in - not sure if the will solve the problem or not!

Nice features like removable inner pail and carbon filter. Easy to clean. It’s nice that the lid isn’t tight so that it can be opened with one hand (actually, one finger, since it has a semicircular handle). It probably won’t prevent fruit flies from getting in but I’d rather have an easy-to-use bin and just use a vinegar & dish soap trap than having a bin that’s a pain to open every time.A bit small but I don’t see that as a bad thing, as I wouldn’t want compost sitting in the kitchen for a week (think mold spores being released into the kitchen every time the lid is taken off). However, may not be the best if you frequently cook large meals that produce a lot of scrap.If you’re not composting the food and just using it to keep stinky garbage out of a less frequently taken out garbage can, grocery store vegetable bags fit nicely in it as a liner (with some extra to tie it when dumping).Haven’t had it for too long so we’ll see about durability but paint/coating seems like it should hold up if not thrown around.

Very nice look and it works like a charm for scraps that I can easily transfer to my compost container on my balcony when this one is full. It is less expensive than similar containers and I'm pleased that I didn't think more expensive would be better - it isn't in this case.

I was very disappointed in this product. We do our own composting and have a Tupperware container on the counter for the scraps before we put it outside. I bought this mainly for the look but it had filters. I was very happy about that. However even with the filters we kept getting fruit flies. Too many. I was outside the return window so now it's of no use to us.

Really happy with this little compost bin, what a pretty color (copper) in my antique kitchen as well! I *really* dislike stainless steel, and had to search a bit to find a non-silver or white one. It's a little on the small side which will mean more trips out to the tumbler, but I was quite ok with that as I go out there every day to water the plants and feed the birds. I absolutely LOVE that it has an inner liner, I even bought a red one as a gift for my neighbor who has been lovingly sending her food scraps over so I can compost them as well.

Why is it impossible to find a kitchen compost bucket that is a decent size? Two tomato’s (diced), half a cucumber (sliced) and a couple egg shells and it’s half full! At this rate I’ll have to walk this out to the composter every single day! If I wanted to do walk then outside everyday, I would just put my scraps in a plastic bag.On the plus side I like the copper finish and it seems well made.

I adore this bin. It was reasonably priced compared to so many others so I was a bit dubious whether it would work well. There is absolutely no smell when the lid is on once the compost gets a little ripe. The inner bin slides out easily and it's super easy to clean. I also adore the red color. It looks great on my counter

For years I've used a plastic box with a lid for my compost from the kitchen. It wasn't pretty. Then one day I thought about looking to see what Amazon might have, and I found this wonderful metal can. It's perfect! It has a plastic liner that I can take out to the garden - and best of all - it's red, which is the main accent color in my kitchen!
