l Was given the Athren jump rope for free in return for an unbiased product review. My husband and I both tried it out and love it. The Athren jump rope is easily adjustable. My husband (6'3") used it at full length and I (5'5") took it in about 4 inches on each side to use it and we both had a perfect fit. It only took a few seconds to make the adjustments. It spun smoothly. First, we tried it outside on our concrete patio and realized that the rough concrete was scratching the wire coating, so then we used it on an exercise mat (better for the knees anyway.) Previously, I have used the segmented style jump rope, shown in the picture. My husband and I both prefer the Athren rope. It is lighter, less bulky, and comes with a bag making it easy to take for exercise away from home. We recommend using it on a rubber exercise mat or other smooth surface (polished concrete as opposed to basketball concrete slab) to prevent the cord coating from being chewed up. The plastic on segmented jump ropes eventually breaks down after repeated slapping on a hard surface, or the plastic just becomes brittle with time. The Athren rope, on the other hand, looks like it could last forever!

Packaging: came in a lightweight plastic shipping package with bubble wrap it doesn't need a box or anything like thatPros: I love the premium feel of this jump rope and it have to say its the best jump rope i owned because most of them where string like but this one is steel and i love the whistle sound it makes! when jumping. Overall a nice jump rope! Much smaller then i thought in the picture but its very effective and strong. And ware shoes! if this hits your feet its gonna hurt like a duck! trust me i learned already i have a nice RED line on my right foot from the impact :DCons: Plastic handles i thought this was a VERY minor con they do feel VERY strong and will last but i wish it was aluminum handles still this is so minor that you should take it with a grain of salt

This is a neat little jump rope. It is minimalist in design, yet versitile. The length is adjustable on either a temporary or permanent basis. It arrived in a tight coil and I was concerned that the cable would not straighten out, but its coil memory is fading fast with each use. The handles are a hard, hollow plastic, but they should be plenty durable under normal use as long as my kids don't get hold of it. I hope that having this handy will help me burn a few calories.

This is a great product. The rope is thin, but substantial and the handles are nice. The included storage bag is good and fits the product perfectly. The adjustable length is nice, but I don't really like how the extra rope sticks out when you do this, but I guess that's the price you pay for it being adjustable. There is advisement on how to cut this extra length if you want, as well as a few extra parts for doing so.

Good jump rope. The handles have a small diameter, but are ok. I think the product would benefit by using higher quality materials for the swivel, (like s.s. steel or aircraft grade aluminum, which would also cause a price increase); however, I do believe this is the best functioning jump rope I have ever owned or used. Recommended, especially on if your on a budget.

This jump rope made me love jump roping and it giving me a full on work out. My legs are nice and soar (in a good way) and getting better every day. Seriously great quality and i highly recommend it to anyone. The price was perfect too! Thanks Athren.

Jump rope is very lightweight and comes with a nice carrying case. Instructions for adjusting handles to correct length are very straightforward and easy to follow. Excess cord is kind of annoying when jumping, but directions say it can be cut off. Although I thought since it was adjustable my husband and I could both use it (8 in height difference btwn us), but if I cut the cord that wouldn't be possible. Other than that I love the sleek design and lightweight cord. Will get lots of use.

Easy to adjust, and works well. It's been a long time I skipped so I've had some trouble getting used to it, but that's me and not the tool. It might be a little hard on wood floors since it's coated steel, but it should last a lifetime.
