This speaker is awesome!!! Puts out a great amount of sound.

I switched the power to 'on' and used it in my living room. I had it sitting on a table while sitting on my couch. The woofer was ear level about four feet away. It wasn't very loud, in fact my ten year old TV at my normal listening level was louder. I turned it off and a few hours later, I turned it on. The display lit up for about two seconds then went black. I smelled burnt electronics and it never lit up again. I requested a replacement which will arrive tomorrow. I think I got a lemon, because it should have been louder and it should work much longer than an hour. I hope the replacement performs as it should. I will update when I get the other one, but for now, it gets one star. Amazon return policy is outstanding as usual.UPDATE:I received the replacement. The first one was a lemon, but Amazon Prime had my replacement delivered in less than two days.I am still making adjustments to the controls, however I am not impressed with the sound. It is okay, just not great. I have an extensive history with audio. Much of the equipment I own is pro audio or fairly good quality. I am looking for something more portable, but the sound quality of this unit is less than expected. To keep it in perspective this is inexpensive so for the cost, it is a good value. I am not sure if I will keep it.A mute button on the remote would be useful.RCA connectors in addition to the 1/8" (3.5mm) would be a great addition since RCA is a more secure connector. There doesn't seem to be a way to edit the FM stations. The first time FM is selected, it autoseeks and memorizes every station in range. If I move it to a different location within my own house, there is a different set of memorized stations.SD card and USB function is adequate.Bluetooth works well and since it is a digital protocol, the data sent is data received with no apparent loss of signal. Sound reproduction is limited by the amp/speaker.Remote works well as long as it is pointed towards the back of the unit. If it is pointed towards the front, it doesn't work. An omnidirectional receiver is needed. Setting it up requires being in front of the speaker, not behind it.If used for karaoke, some voice effects could help those performers who are tonally challenged to give a better performance.FINAL OPINION:I tried the microphone. It sounds horrible compared to a professional microphone such as a Shure 58.I purchased a Lyxpro 8" speaker. It has the remote control receiver at the front, the sound came through much more clearly - the lower frequencies were much less muddy and it was louder.Audio is very personal, so try and compare different components. This could work for the sonically challenged, but anyone with musical background would be disappointed. I do not recommend this item.

My brother has one and it is amazing. I bought the same item and the speaker is not as clear or as loud as my brothers. I am disappointed.

Update!! I have had this unit for a week. I have run it every day all day. I am thrilled with my decision to try this unit. First of all, I am 70 years old. I have always had a ear for music. Since my divorce, ya guys I got raped too? LOL, anyway the sound quality is in my opinion just a little below excellent. I stream my music daily. Hey I divorced and retired have learned that women are overrated and bored most days. So I fill it with my tunes. Ok, I listen to a lot of what I call rockabilly music. Ya there is such a thing just ask, Alexa. LOL! I was looking at a full stereo with all components. Much more expensive. I have bought several so called top of the line bluetooth speakers in the past and they all crap out. Usually battery or charging issues. I don't need something portable. I read so many reviews about PA and powered speakers I had a headache. I stumbled on this speaker and thought wat the heck I will check it out. There were two honest reviews ahead of me. I read both, they both said positive things about this unit. So with no others to confuse me, I bought it! So happy with it I contacted the company itself and a tripod stand is on the way. You can do numerous things with it. My advice is, if you are in the market for a decent power speaker or PA system this is a great system so far. Bluetooth hooked up first time. No problems no issues. I got my stand from the company because I wanted to be sure it fit this speaker and besides that there stands are way cheaper than Amazon, sorry Amazon but I am being honest.
