This plastic is 1/8" thick and solid. The thing that you need to know is that the box is tapered from the front to the back in height and width. Inside height dimension in the front is approximately 2-3/4" and the back at 2-3/8". The width of the box is also tapered with the inside front dimension being approximately 7-3/4" and the back at 7-1/4". The length to the outside of the flange in the front is approximately 9-3/4" and the back is 9-1/8". The depth (front to back) dimension from the outside of the flange is 8-3/4" straight across (no taper). It is a very solid box with a mild textured finish that looks good. I needed the box for something that was rectangular shaped and the height and width of the taper in the back of the box interfered with the fit so I couldn't use it but it looks like the box would accommodate most common radio sizes but wanted to mention the taper and outside dimensions of the flange so that you can take that into account if needed for your project.

Well made, needed to install my deck somewhere other than under the dash. This one is easy to trim for the single DIN style with a pair of pliers or side cutters. Has a thick mounting ring all the way around and comes with good screws

of the different models I looked at this seemed to be the sturdiest and didn't disappoint when it arrived. It was easily modified to fit my receiver and the mod didn't jeopardize the strength of the unit. A great product.

For those antiques that you want modern radio in with out removing old factory. This is great.

Purchased for installation of Kenwood KMR-D372BT In-Dash Marine Boat Audio Bluetooth CD Player Receiver. DIN sleeve and face plate and ring fit perfectly in cut out provided. Used dremel with circular saw blade. Size of box was just right.

It is slim and fits very well. Lots of mounting options for the radio as well as the bracket.
