Much safer than standard penetrating lubricants, but not nearly as effective.
My wife made me get rid of all the automotive chemicals that work and replace them with safer stuff. I don't blame her, the solvents that make up penetrating lubricants like PB Blaster and Brake Cleaner are incredibly toxic. Check the MSDS data sheets or watch "A Civil Action" to learn about what havoc Trichloroethylene can do to you. Even if you're wearing gloves, you'll breathe in a lot of vapors and overspray. So what's in this bottle? Vegetable oil and propellant. Smells like Pam, works like Pam, costs way more than Pam.I sprayed some on a bolt and nut holding a lateral link on a Subaru and let it sit for about 15min. The bolt was still somewhat difficult to break loose, and when I did, I checked the threads to see if it actually penetrated anything. It hadn't wicked up the threads of the bolt anymore than what it could immediately touch.Would I buy it again...Yes. A broken bolt is better than leukemia

For Faster Fastener Removal . . .
A 21 year-old tie rod came out after only three hours of soaking. Also, when re-examining the knuckle with the new tie-rod it I noticed it had crept very far from the initial application site--over two inches and coated a large area of metal on the knuckle. I largely suspect this coating could help resist corrosion for a while; I'll have to follow up to say exactly how long. For corroded fasteners this will now be my go-to penetrant. I would also use this for lubrication or even cleaning if necessary. It is very, very light so it could be just right for something like throttle body butterfly valves after a cleaning.I do wonder:1. If it must be cleaned from threading and fasteners before exposure to heat, were I to use it on a cylinder head fastener for example. Some penetrants turn into thread-locking agents when heated . . .2. Whether or not it could degrade automotive hoses and gaskets if used to aid in their removal/installation.If I can get more potential uses out of this product then that is great. If not--it has still earned its place in my toolkit as my go-to penetrating oil.

Works great. Does not smell.
Used it in my garage to break the bolts on a brake caliper. I let it sit for a few hours to work into the bolts and they broke free. I like that it does not smell like other penetrant products I've used in my garage. Great replacement for petroleum products like WD40 and PB Blaster.
