I bought this to repair my boots, which the shoe-maker said were irreparable. The leather on the toes was completely scratched up and torn. (I forgot to take a “before” picture.) I figured I had nothing to lose as I was looking at having to buy new boots for $100 and these are really comfortable. I have used one of their kits in the past to repair a torn vinyl sofa, and it worked great.They’ve since changed the curing process so that you have to use heat to dry it with the textured patch applied. The old kits, you just put the patch on, left it for a while and then gently peeled it off. I could not get the heat thing to work. I heated up a pan in the toaster oven and then put the tool on it to heat and then tried to use it per the instructions. Yeah, that totally didn’t work. So I just smoothed some of it on, spread it evenly with my finger and let it air dry. Voila! Nearly perfect texture and no more missing leather toes. I did apply a second coat, and then applied semi-gloss shoe polish all over. I no longer need new boots. Very, very happy.

I'm not going to lie, when the product arrived I mentally sighed. The packaging and instructions were pretty bad. After reading them about 3 times I decided to just give it a go, it's not a great couch but I wanted to get another year or two of use before replacing it and didn't want a dime sized whole showing (which shows up on the black like a neon light).I followed the instructions and pulled off the pattern paper and was shocked. You barely tell there is a patch there! I took about 7 minutes including time to heat up the heating element. I will say to make sure you have an electric stove or something you can heat the element with (I have a stand alone electric burner from college).It's not a professional repair, but for 15 bucks and 7 minutes this product was exactly what I was looking for.

I purchased this product for my pleather black kitchen stool which has cracks but no holes. The product does noteven cover the cracks. It looks very shiny so unless your pleather is extremely shiny this will really stand out as different than your leather/pleather.This product does not dry, do not waste your time, energy or money! The instructions state thatyou must use the heat of 350 degrees and they give you a tool which is the size of a dime for you to heatyourself on a stove or with an iron. Both of these options are impossible. Even if you smear the product on in the thinnest layer it doesn't dry. After letting it dry for over a week, I finally just wiped it all off with rubbing alcohol on a cloth. Now my stool looks worse. The amount of repair compound per color isn't enough for any repair, it's actually ridiculous. THE SELLER DOES NOT ALLOW ANY RETURNS!!! In order to provide a review I had to pick at least one star but I honestly think they don't even deserve that star! BEWARE and DO NOT PURCHASE!!!

The ad represented an electric heating tool for curing the repair. The kit contains a wooden dowel with a small metal plate on the end that you must heat to exactly 350 degrees (too cool won't work, too hot will burn material); not an easy estimate to make. Haven't tried the repair but disappointed in misrepresentation.
