ZERDOCEAN's [Cold Weather] Balaclava Is Almost Perfect
I grabbed one of ZERDOCEAN's cold-weather balaclavas, and a few different 'winter' riding gloves to try out the other day when the temps here in Satan's a-hole aka New York's temps hit the first all time low..I've gotta' say.. The mask worked pretty well! I just wouldn't recommend it for 'freezing' temperatures..I went out riding for about 2 hours, speeds between 30 and 60mph..At low speeds and with minimal wind, it kept my face relatively warm.At high speeds with much more wind, I could definitely feel the freeze coming on..It's not like I plan to ride every single day in the NY snow/winter though, so, I can't complain. The fit is great! Both on my child-sized head lol and under my helmet - Which is a Huge Plus.[The Scorpion EXO AT950s fit tight and are cheek-huggers anyways]Previous face covers are a no go with that helmet since they either bunch up or tweak outa' shape..This balaclava slid on nicely, the helmet slid on perfectly over that, and it needed next to no adjustment. The [most important] eye opening held shape and stayed put, so visibility was excellent. The nose section actually fit perfectly, and the neck section soft enough to fit under the strap/buckle.The mouth section [also important] did not feel restrictive at all.. It allowed for good breathability, and when my face did get cold, I could take slow breaths to help build up a bit of heat, and the mask seemed to keep that inside better/longer than the other styles that I've had.Overall, these are a really solid construction for the price, fit well, work well, etc.I'd definitely get another one if/when needed, and I can most definitely recommend them!**Side Note** I have a long goatee/beard, and it's usually a pain to stuff under these things..I don't know if it's how other styles are shaped around the chin/neck area..This let me stuff the ol' flavor-saver inside and outa' the way both untied and rubberbanded.[For me, that's another big plus] After a few minutes, I couldn't even tell that I had it on.

So warm I usually pull the face mask down below my chin
I bought this product to wear during the winter months while out delivering mail. Living in the Midwest we can see temps from below zero to 40 degrees during the winter. We also see a lot of wind causing wind chills to consistently be in the single digits to -25 pretty regular from December to February. This face mask has done the trick in keeping me extra warm in the winter weather. The mask is a one piece unit that is made of a cotton/polyester blend plus other fabric material that I can no longer read on the tag, but it is machine washable. This is nice because this thing makes me sweat and because of this I usually pull the face mask down under my chin. The neck section is long enough that it easily tucks into my coat to keep the wind off my neck and out of my coat.Even though the nose section has vent holes in it, if you wear glasses of any kind with this face mask on covering our face, your glasses will fog up. So here is another reason I will pull the face mask down under my chin because when the sun comes out I have to have sunglasses on in order to see, no matter how cold it is out. I haven't had any issues with this face mask absorbing water from it sleeting, snowing, or from blow back while snow blowing. Yes it gets wet, but doesn't soak through to your face, neck or head.I highly recommend this if you plan on spending long hours outside in extremely cold and snowy conditions.Pros: cost, comfort, durability, doesn't absorb water, warmth, easy to wash, protects your neck wellCons: will fog up glasses if wearing it as a full face unit

Nice warm balaclava, troubled face mask
Overall the main portion of the balaclava is nice, warm and very soft inside. 10 out of 10, would buy again. Construction and materials are quite solid and I've noticed no defects so far. It does help on my bicycle commute when the temperature is hovering right around freezing in the morning. The section to cover the face is a bit of a miss however. It has a shaped slit for the nose, presume to let you exhale without fogging glasses/goggles. However its not quite big enough to accomplish this task. If you wear the nose covering low enough for air to direct out the opening its going to be smashing your nose into your face. If you wear it up where its more comfortable on the top of the nose the lower edge of the opening smashes into the septum which is not only uncomfortable but causes exhales through the nose to direct air up the mask and into any glasses/goggles your wearing. I'm probably going to try trimming it a bit and see if I can get a better fit. Worst case I end up with my upper lip exposed but I rock a mustache anyway so I have some natural insulation there.
