waste of money
The biggest issue I have with the book is that everything I wanted to read and the reason for buying the book was redacted. I wanted to read about the missions but none of that could be printed so I had to read about his childhood torturing Saudi cats, his most likely half-truths about his marriage, disgusting things guys do to each other for pranks, and how f'd up his mind is about wanting to find a psychopath for special ops missions but first that person would have to torture a goat and a tiny kitten. This guy is a joke. He may have been a great Seal but I didn't get to read about all of that. As a person, I didn't need to know any of it.

Leaves much to your imagination
What is the point of writing a book that’s heavily redacted??? You want to tell your story and expect people to buy your book and to believe you At least treat us with respect!!! You want to protect secrets and identities or places then write fiction or leave it out . You expect folks to take you seriously??Better you stick to doing drawings. It may be a good story or maybe even the truth but I’m don’t feel that I got my money’s worth. Folks who have done more have written better books and even said they had to change places and names !!!I think this a all a ploy to sound exciting or give the impression that it’s super secret. Even Dick Marcinko and others showed the readers more respect.

Don't waste your time!
sorry I can't give this a zero.. This is an angry angry guy and it shares that throughout the book. As i listened to his experiences I thought he would see the value in his childhood, teenage years, mom and wife issues. But no he just bitched about everything from Navy Leadership to divorce. recommend you don't buy this and don't wait for the movie.

Excellent read
Fantastic! If you love 100 Deadly Skills (either edition) or his predecessor book Escape the Wolf, you'll have undoubtedly wondered about the SEAL behind the pages, his bio, his actual name, etc. And you mind find yourself stalking him on Instagram for entertaining content. This is Clint's story. Although several sets of genitals were harmed along the way, and you'll find the liberal use of the F bomb as a verb, adjective, and noun, it's a super great read. It might not make the Accelerated Reader list at your child's school, but The Right Kind of Crazy will give you a healthy dose of life led by someone with motivation and persistence. I thoroughly enjoyed it and was a bit sad to come to the end. It left me wondering why I too hadn't been an operator instead opting for such ridiculous notions as graduate school! I can't seem to scroll back up and proof read what I've tapped out on my smartphone so BLUF: buy the book and read it cover to cover. Then go make a sugar cookie.

Better than I expected
This is more than a book about Clint Emerson, it's also about men and women of this country who are willing to go to the extreme to help protect the United States. Clint gives us a tiny glimpse into what some of our spec ops personal really do out there in a dangerous changing world of bad types who want to hurt innocent people for their fanatical beliefs. Thanks Clint for writing this book, and sharing your story of growing up and it's challenges along with your career in the SEALS.

Great internment, and seeing a different side of what happens in a warriors life!
This book kept my attention and I read along while listening to the audio version. Listening to the book in the authors own voice made it that much better! The pics where awesome to see while he read. Some of the best parts were the redactions!I was laughing so hard at one point I had to pause for a minute,🤣 but it also pulled at my heart strings of the hurt and loss.Thank for sharing your story Clint, and letting us feel, hear and see your humanity.

Amazing book, couldn't put it down!
Clint does an amazing job telling stories from his career and childhood. They're not just about his Spec Op exploits, he talks about his childhood and family which everyone can relate to. Great book, couldn't put it down and highly recommended!

Bit of a waste of money - better books out there than this
The book is heavily redacted - why release a book that is so difficult to read as most of the content has been redacted. As mentioned previously, other authors who have done more have less content redacted that this book. Doesn't mention anything about his time in DEVGRU. Other books such as No Easy Day and The Operator are a far better and more interesting read with no redaction. He also writes about Mark Owen (The author of No Easy Day) which there seems to be some bitterness towards him, maybe a hint of jealousy. The book also has drawings in it which I thought was short changing the reader. Most books the author will put in proper photos of the things he's writing about...If I wanted drawings, I would have bought a comic!...

Average
Not the best book of its genre. So heavily redacted you don't actually learn anything. Had to force myself to finish it. Shame.

Truly liked the way Clint Emerson doesn’t hold back and tells it how it is. Enjoyed every page.
