Worth it
I work with kids who are HOH so its important for them to be able to read my lips. My school has provided some clear masks with foam but they were very uncomfortable and kind of scary looking to the kids. These masks are great! Some of the patterns are not ones I would personally wear but other staff members have taken them, I do wish they had other pattern options though. They have a good size window for your mouth to show, wire nose bridge, and adjustable ear wraps to fit different sized faces. At first I struggled with keeping it from fogging, the best thing I have found is to take a drop of dish soap to the window, rub it in really well with a paper towel all over the window and allow it to dry then put it on. Since trying the dish soap I haven't had any issues at all with fogging!EDIT: I also wanted to add that I know some would say these are expensive, at time of purchasing I got them for 10/$35, so it turned out to be $3.50 each mask. In my opinion this is a great deal for a mask with a window.

Best Masks for people with PTSD
I] am an Army Veteran and suffer from PTSD and facemasks wearing has been a disaster for me.Masks, scarves and bandannas are going right into my nose when breathing in, including other masks with ckear middle. I hope you can in the picture that they aren't in my nose and mouth.

You can see mouth--for diction, singing!
You MUST pre-treat the inside of the plastic insert with either a very small smear of dishwashing liquid, or foam hand-soap, or shaving cream, and let it dry; then it does not fog up. However, in use for a whole day of teaching, it does accumulate condensation that you have to wipe away, which loses the protective de-fog feature. Solution: bring a couple of pre-treated masks along. SO much better to teach a voice or Diction lesson, with both you and student able to see your mouth/lips!

Love these masks!
I get so many compliments and appreciation for these masks and the ability to see my smile. I work in an elementary school and saw the speech therapist trying to instruct students on how to form the words, but then they couldn't see her mouth. So I gave her a few. I have a friend who is an ASL interpreter, and she uses them when working as well. They are very durable and comfortable. I absolutely love them!

You can see me smile!
These do what I needed it to do....they do fog up a bit and are a little hotter than all cloth versions.

Did not work
Bought these for voting day as I was working the polls and wanted to be a friendly face to voters. I put Dawn dish soap on the plastic to help with fogging and this worked for 10 minutes. I love the cloth patterns. Unfortunately, I returned as you can't wear these for long periods - creates a very moist environment over your mouth (which makes sense, it's plastic). Just does not work.

Give to friends, to read their lips.
Sold as being good for people who lip read.So I bought them and give them to people I want to talk with, but can’t understand them through their mask. Now I can “see” and “hear” what my manicurist is saying!!

I’m sure they work for someone out there. Not for me.
Honestly, I didn’t end up using this. I still have them for emergency. U have to put dawn on the window every time u use it or it will dog. It made me sound even more muffled when teaching. I looked a little creepy in them. Didn’t quite fit right over the nose. I was grateful for the amount I got for the price.
