A bit finnicky, but works well eventually
I'm using this hub as two-cable docking solution alongside an eGPU, so I like that it has enough power to actually power all the things connected to it, and that it supports 10gbps USB so you can hook up a lot of USB3 devices and not be short of bandwidth. The stock USB-C cable that came with it is very short and you need to be careful with buying longer ones. If you have the correct cable you should see multiple "Generic SuperSpeed USB Hub"s in device manager, if you only see "Generic USB Hub" then get a better cable. One word of warning, it does not seem to play nice with USB Ethernet controllers, I tried controllers based on the AX88179A, AX88179 and Realtek 8152 and ran into the same issues with all of them not being seen by Windows. You can make them work but I'm not entirely sure how. Having them plugged into the hub before you boot your computer seems to help, and once installed they seem to be OK, but that initial setup is definitely a return to the bad old days of early "Plug'n'Pray" cards.I did contact their tech support and they were initially helpful but couldn't find a fix and told me to return it if it's incompatible.

Neat way to attach all your devices
I like the fact that all the usb ports are in-line and each has a power switch. It has tidied up the mess of previously having 2 hubs with USB cables coming out in different directions on my desk. Seems solidly built as well. Very pleased with it.

Does exactly what I want
I have a wireless mouse, a wireless keyboard, 3 external hard drives, a couple of wireless charges and an external DVD player. The hub is sturdy and reliable. An additional feature is the facility to individually switch off individual sockets

Worth the price, for quality USB management
I was first a bit hesitant to spend this amount on a 10 port USB hub, but frankly, it was worth it.This model in particular sits nicely on my Ikea desk, which is black too. The mirrored flat edge on one side is particularly interesting and makes it feel like a futuristic gadget, more than a USB hub. Each port has it's own on/off switch which is incredibly handy to switch between devices or turn off any conflicting devices in an instant. No more reaching around the back of the computer to fiddle with the USB ports!I produce music and back up my data from time to time and the limited USB ports on the machine I have are restrictive and annoying when I need to move the machine in order to get to the ports. This eliminates a lot of hassle and can simply plug and play.Using a couple of passive USB ports in the past were not great for some of my devices, not that they needed power, but when introducing them to a port on the passive hub, I lost it's functionality, so with this one, the powered ports and them all being USB 3.0 is great! To sum up:- Looks fitting for my workspace- Avoids hassle of moving and removing other USB ports- USB 3.0- Individual On/Off switchesCons - All I would maybe say is the price, but to be honest, the hassle it has removed is worth it, so technically no cons.

Mixed results and quality but generally positive.
On opening the box I was quite impressed with the quality of the unit, it looks very nice, the aluminium body should help with cooling and it has some weight to it without being too heavy. All in all a very nice unit. On closer examination I noticed that the spring loaded buttons all have slightly different heights when switched off. Not a big deal but they feel a bit cheap and the springs are very light - only time will tell how they last but if I was going to use the switches on a daily basis I would be concerned about durability.I first connected it to my ageing ASUS N55SL laptop (i7 Sandy Bridge) and I found it only recognised three SSD's if I unplugged and replugged the unit to the laptop. Sometimes it wouldn't work at all. The buttons never worked. When I connected it to two newer laptops it works as it should. Transfer speeds between two SSD's are somewhat slower (by about 30MB/s in my case) than if they are connected directly to the laptop but I was getting 200MB/s so not too bad, they are not the fastest SSD's.Other than not working on the ASUS N55SL, and the cheap buttons, it seems like a good unit.I will update if RSTech come up with a solution for the N55SL or if any other problems occur.
