As a complete n00b to the world of pocket watch repair, I've been trying to buy good quality tools to help me avoid making mistakes and destroying the tiny, delicate parts which are commonplace to this profession. I had watched a number of youtube videos where people use a couple of small screwdrivers and a plastic baggie to help lever watch hands away from the dial, and it all looked a little dodgy. I then came across a video where I saw this style of hand remover and did a little digging before I came across this listing here on Amazon.I'm very happy to report that the device works exactly as designed. It's extremely easy to use - sort of self-regulating when it comes to adjusting the way it comes down and grips under the hands before they are pulled upwards. When you press the button at the thin end of the device, it depresses a shaft down the center spindle which bends the arms, pulling the 'claws' out to either side of the body. You lower the business end of the tool down over the hands on the watch dial, slowly release the button, and watch the hands come back together underneath the watch hands. A small amount of upward pressure will then pop the hands off, cleanly and safely.I've not hand a single misfire, and I'm sure that careful users won't have to worry any more about bending hands.Best twenty bucks I've spent (so far) in my new hobby.Please like this review if you found it helpful.
