Ignoring the dimensions provided for the packaging the diameter of the one I received is exactly 178 mm ( 7 inches ). I obtained it so as to weigh and flatten down thin cut sirloin steaks and gammon steaks when being sizzled up in a small - 20 cm - stone coated frying pan. I followed the instructions to wash it in hot soapy water with a nylon bristled washing-up brush - dried it - and then coated it with a thin skin of cooking oil ( I used a spray of olive oil ), wiping off any excess. I am assuming that the press should always be maintained like this after being washed and left in storage, as the thin skin of oil should prevent the cast iron from acquiring possible spots of rust in humid conditions. The results of my first use with it seem to be encouraging with a much more evenly cooked piece of meat being fried at a lower temperature. I won't be doing any of that home barbecuing stuff though, because I've never seen the point of going through such a ritual just a few metres beyond my back door - so the spatula may find itself being used in some other capacity. Delivery of my round press took about 48 hours from the time of ordering- not bad.Eamonn

Made my first burgers with these the other night and the press worked really well. my only issue is the the spatular could do with being maybe another 50mm longer as I like fairly big burgers such as are made with the press and they are difficult to flip with such a short spatular!10 out of 10 for the press 5 out of 10 for the spatular

Not going to lie, I was not expecting such good quality. Highly recommend. Need to oil them a bit before use to stop things sticking but that's the same with most utensils like these.

Used it a few times now for smash burgers.It's stuck only the once first time I used it but now I've got hang of it works perfect every time.

For frying bacon flat, don't like it all curled up & fits my pans well

After first few washes. I tried and dry it immediately with a clothe but there marks still on it. These marks are rust and is also smell like rusted now. Avoid buying it since the quality of the product is not good.
