Pleasantly surprised by this competent device
I have to admit that I was skeptical about this product. A narrow 7mm wide camera, with a built in light, for such a low price? How good could it be?For a very long while, I vacillated between this unbranded tool and the highly regarded Bosch PS91-1A trying to convince myself to pay almost five times as much for my little project while worrying that even at 9.5mm, it might be too thick for my purposes. I also considered the waterproof version of this camera.Fortunately, last week I found Amazon fulfillment being offered on this particular camera, and I jumped. (I far prefer dealing with Amazon customer support as opposed to directly with vendors).I'm glad to admit that so far, I am favorably impressed by its capabilities.Pros:###1/ As advertised, the camera is 7mm wide. It fit very easily through the 10mm gap that I needed to explore.2/ Very sturdy and flexible wand. I was able to maneuver it well even in cramped quarters.3/ The built-in LED light is reasonably bright, even in a dark enclosed space. As a bonus, its brightness is adjustable.4/ The wand was decently long enough for my purposes.5/ The image was clear enough for me to recognize what I was looking for.6/ With Windows 7, I did not need to install the accompanying software/drivers (see below).7/ Great packaging - very elegantly done (no blister pack style struggling to get at the tool). Some improvements? (Note that at this price point, I'm not really complaining)1/ The manual is so poorly translated that I didn't want to risk installing the accompanying software on my laptop.2/ The camera, wand, and handle are a single unit. Therefore, turning the camera requires that you pivot the entire tool. I would have preferred that I could angle the camera/wand without also having to twist the handle.3/ No ability to focus the camera, you will have to move it around to get a clearly focused image.Overall, I couldn't be happier with my purchase. I needed a cheap tool to find an object that had rolled into a dark crevice, and this was just the ticket. Especially since I didn't fancy ponying up big bucks for a tool that I might use extremely rarely - I honestly can't remember the last time I needed an inspection camera.Software Notes:###########On Windows 7, I simply attached the USB connector to my laptop, and the required drivers were automatically installed. Then, in Windows Movie Maker, this device showed up as a generic USB device. That's it! No need to bother with the confusing user manual for the accompanying SuperEyes software.Happy Viewing!

Works fine - good quality construction
Pros- provides a clear image - reflections off metal do not blow out image- well made - tough, metal construction - well designed. Plastic only where needed- Light source intensity is easily adjustable (3 levels)- amazing value - I previously paid $69 for product far worse.Cons- 3.3 software on CD does not contain the .cab file required - completely useless - included .exe file would not install programHad to go to site and download correct file. Now works fine, tho interface is a bit "rough" (includes Chinese characters, etc.)Overall: like it - works fine - will keep. This company knows how to make medical quality products - we are lucky that they expanded to produce this simple unit. Friend in Japan spent same amount of money and got awful, different company's all-plastic product. Will order more of these for our engineers. Great field tool for them.

Not to shabby - Works on Mac!
Supereyes Model:N005 USB Micro / Borescope / EndoscopeThis does work on a Mac (it's plug and play). You can use Quicktime Player (recommended) or Photo Booth (inverts camera optics, don't know why). Tested in 10.6.8 on a Mac Book Pro and custom Hackintosh.Quicktime PlayerPlug USB camera into port. Open Quicktime Player. Go to "File" (top left screen menu) and select "New Movie Recording". You now have video. Can enlarge screen to full size which is nice. And if you want to can record video if need be.PhotoboothOnce plugged in open up "Photo Booth" application and it will either auto choose it or you'll need to click on "Camera" at the top left menu in photo booth and choose "USB camera". For some reason this application inverts the camera optics (like looking into a mirror). Which is why I recommend Quicktime Player method. It's actually really well built for only being $36.50. The camera and flexible neck shell is metal. Camera diameter is .275" which makes it capable of fitting in small tight places (This was the smallest camera size for the buck I could find). Anything below this seems to be in the fiber optic range which is thousands. Dimmable leds work great in dark places. The camera has a fixed x50 magnification. The focus seems to be set between 1-3 inches away from an object. And when it's in focus it's an extremely nice clear resolution image. The usb cord could be longer as it's only 3 feet but I have a 6 foot extension added to it. The disk with the drivers on it is a mini disk. Can download the software and drivers at [...]For common household needs, looking into walls, tight places, running cables or wire it's great. If your a professional looking for a cheap cam give it a shot if you already have a netbook or laptop. Get a usb extension cord and your set. For $36.50 it's a cheap loss if it's not for your needs or a cheap "disposable" solution if there is a high chance the camera could get damaged.
