The unlucky person you're giving this to is going to think you're an amazing friend and an thoughtful gift-giver for weeks... until the apple pie aroma fades into a dirty fart. No one will be able to tell this is a loaded prank candle by its look and smell.Before lighting it, the candle smells more like sour apple than apple pie. But I gave it to my roommate and when she lit it, it smelled like she was baking apple crispers in her bedroom. Now I just have to wait. The box says the candle has a 40-hour burn time and there's a chart that makes it look like the apple pie scent is about the first 25-35%. So this prank is definitely a long-con. I'll have to report back with an update on how it plays out at the 10th hour. I really can't wait.The product shipped fast and the customer service by WTF Candles was A+

I bought this for my neighbor who is a smart mouth APRN! She text me the day after I gave it to her and told me the candle smells amazing! I can’t wait until she gets to the middle of it! She’s going to think one of her dogs crapped in her bed lol

It smelled terrible as soon as you opened the lid. You never get to smell the "nice" smell. It was just all nasty and bad. We went home to see family for the holidays and my mom loves apple pie anything. She told me to light it and put it in the bathroom. About an hour later my husband and I were nearly vomiting from the smell. My parents (smokers) couldn't smell anything. I had my mom go into the bathroom to get me some kleenex, thinking she could then smell it and she would say something about it, but nothing. She didn't even notice. My husband and I couldn't stand it the smell and had to go outside in the freezing cold to get some fresh air. It was so strong... and NASTY! So WARNING... this doesn't work with long time smokers who have no sense of smell.

The item is aesthetically pleasing, but the bad scent is able to escape and it overpowers the good scent before even lighting the candle. Will probably return it.Edit: increased from 2 stars to 3 stars after talking with the company. They informed me that there will be a redesign on the product that will fix the issues I stated in my review. They also very quickly issued a full refund.I recommend their vanilla prank candle until the redesign for the Apple pie scent is released.Looking forward to trying the new one :)

Just received my candle. The wick must be under all the wax- there is no visible wick. I could try to dig it out, but then it'll look terrible when I gift it. Also the candle does not fill the container all the way and moves around in the container, so it doesn not smell only like apple pie (can smell more than apple pie and it def stinks). Was supposed to be a gag gift for my friend. Was looking forward to her reaction too! All in all, total bummer and wasted $$

The candle smelled great for the full 30 hours; I had aimed to prank friends who live together but they ended up thanking me for the wonderful candle and aroma in the house. I had monitored the candle closely for the first 6 hours of burn without bad scent so am a little disappointed it never materialized. Enjoy the good, hope for the bad I guess!

So my wife bought this as a prank for her sister. Her sister happened to text her that she had a long day and just lit the candle and wanted to say thank you. My wife then told her mom about it who told her sister. Her sister than spilled it everywhere while trying to throw it out. Her house smelled terrible for a couple days. We had a great laugh about it and her sister was a good sport and I am sure is planning something to get us back.

Absolutely loved it! The perfect Birthday gift for me - this was a surprise for my brother (who's wife likes candles) and I asked them to light it when they opened it. Skeptical at first, the lit the candle and "liked" the smell. 5 minutes later they thought their dog had vomited or poo-ed in the house! It was perfect!I'd recommend this for anyone who wants to harmlessly prank someone and get a good laugh! Definitely buying again for other occasions.
