When I saw these tongs, I knew I had to have them. I just loved the blue color of them. Although I did received them at a discounted price, all opinions are my own.The 2-Piece Salad/Barbecue Tongs are a great addition to my kitchen utensils. When my wife saw that I got tongs, she said, " Don't we have enough tongs?" I didn't care because I liked them and I wanted them.But I didn't expect how handy they would be. When I have cooked certain foods in the past, I would be chasing the food around the pan to pick them up with a spatula. I was able to pick up baked mozzarella sticks with no problem with the Lucentee Tongs.Another cool thing is that you can close the tongs for easier storage. With a drawer full of kitchen utensils, being able to close the tongs is definitely a nice benefit. I am such a fan of these tongs that I will be getting rid of a few that I don't need or use.The ring on the end pulls out to lock the tongs closed. The tongs are stainless steel with silicone tips which is heat resistant up to 480 degrees fahrenheit so you can use them to flip food in the oven and on the grill. And they are dish washer safe which makes for easy clean up.A sample unit was provided for review purposes.

Like most, I try so hard not to use metal utensils in my cookware to keep from marring it, especially my 'non-stick'. But I don't care for pure plastic pieces because I find they lack in longevity. This set mixes the best of non-stick silicone with the quality and strength of a stainless steel tool.Regardless if you are stirring pasta, turning fish or steaks, or what every you may need to do, this set just works, plain and simple. Good solid grip, but without the damaging hold metal tongs my do to food. Makes for a better presentation, even nice enough to use as serving-ware at parties or the kitchen table. The metal support goes all the way down into the silicone giving great support, with out exposing my cookware to any metal ends. The set also includes a plastic/silicone mix brush for basting or BBQ'ing.One big problem with storing tongs is keeping them closed for space consideration. Each pair in this set features an easy to use lock on the end to keep them closed when you need that, and a hook for hanging.
