Westcott LetterCraft French Plastic Curve Set, Set of 4(FC-4)

This complete set of French Curves are perfect for todays professional or student use. They are sturdy yet more flexible than my older set from yesteryear. The beveled edge is a new design from the vintage flat edge that I'm familiar with- but I believe it will make it easier to hit your marks. I'm happy to add these to my collection and expect they will traded by my heirs for necessary survival staples.

These came packaged safely, in protective layers. In art painting, sometimes you want different shapes than you can draw yourself. On a new project, I did 1 or 2 with a whole stencil, & filled other space with just sections of the whole stencil. I got a 95% grade on the project I used them for which is a very pleasing added bonus! If you see wiggly places it's because I had a traumatic brain injury that makes my hands shake. Highly recommend!

This French Curve set is on quite thin plastic and look like they will break if you look at them wrong. I haven't shopped for any other curve sets. Maybe a plastic that came with delineated edges so I could judge more easily what the second proposed line looks like in relation to the first drawn line. Who knows?

Bought these for crafting: I mostly do paper and fabric work, but just bought a scroll saw. They seem to be made of a pretty fragile plastic - I wouldn't want to drop them too often - but for the price, I wouldn't expect more. They don't take up a lot of room, because they are so thin. They are thick enough to work fine, though - you won't have trouble tracing around them. Really young kids might break them, but 9 and up should be okay. I did not give 5 star because they aren't "professional grade," but I am really quite satisfied - I don't think you could find any better set for the price, maybe not even twice the price.

I'm learning some basic pattern making and thought a French curve would be helpful. I've received this set of four and was pleasantly surprised about what I received for the price I paid. The only thing that would make this set better is to have some measurement markings. The construction of these French curves feel solid and sturdy. They are completely clear which is nice when trying to see small marks that they may cover during sketching.

These have made pattern drafting 100 times easier. All the curves ensure that there is the perfect one for whatever project you can imagine. They feel good and sturdy, and aren't super slippery like others I've used.

Just the number of French Curve Rulers I need for art .... Well made, just right size for use with water color or pastel, where occasionally one wants a natural curve, like hanging telephone lines from telephone poles, were getting the changing radius curve can be difficult to do by just eye and hand.
