This is a new pedal that I am just now releasing. It is the Ratified, it has controls for Filter, Gain and Level it also has a 3 way toggle switch. This has a nice thick distortion with lots of sustain and drive. The Gain control works with the Filter control to give you more options with your tone. If you want it thick and dirty turn the Gain up and the Filter control to suit your tone, if you want to thin it out a little just back the Gain control down. There are lots of different variations in this box. This pedal is based around the LM308n chip. The Ratified runs on a 9v batery or an adapter it can run up to 18v, it is true bypass and I use only the best parts. The case is powder coated and the design is screen printed. This is a great looking pedal that sounds better!Specifcations LM308n Chip Heavy Duty Aluminum Enclosure Durable powder coated finish Davies knobs Switchcraft jacks Alpha pots 1% Metal Film Resistors Blue LED EH 3DPT true bypass switch Military grade wiring Hand picked and matched parts for tone and durability Works on a 9V Battery or Adapter

Fantastic Riff on the Rat
It is rare to find a review for a CMAT pedal that is less than 5 stars, and mine is no exception. This is a fantastic stomp box, a clone of the early versions of the Proco Rat, but with a highly useful clipping switch. I have owned this pedal for about eight years (bought from Prymaxe Vintage), and the reason why you do not see my review tagged "verified purchase" is because when I bought this pedal it was called the Black Plague. I guess that the pedal was rebranded because too many guitarists did not understand the rat pun or were turned off by the Halloween graphics and assumed it was a death metal distortion. Everything that made the original Rat legendary is all here- the wide gain range, the sparkling harmonic overtones, snotty attitude, perfect compression levels etc. I doubt that there is a style of contemporary music that this pedal could not help with. The reason why I went with CMAT rather than an original Proco Rat is because it is widely known that the Proco pedals took a hit when they switched production offshore and begin using cheaper components. It really is worth the extra money to get a boutique version of the Rat and not just for build quality reasons. Compared to the Rat2 the Ratified has a much richer and fuller sound without the fizzy cheap sounding top end that so many mass-produced pedals have (for another example of what I mean compare a vintage tube screamer to a new one or compare the Digitech Screaming Blues to an actual Blues Driver).CMAT build quality cannot be beat and Chad Matthews really stands behind his products. For example, the switch on my pedal developed a problem (not the fault of the builder) and Chad fixed it for free even though the warranty had expired! He is a super nice guy who quickly responds to his customers.A while back, Tone Report Weekly did a story on the best rat clones and I was sad to see that they did not include the CMAT version, because it really deserves to be up there.
