Home Keeper: The Ultimate Organizer Ring-bound – March 31, 2009

I bought this at the same time that I bought the two other options I saw available in the category, and that are binders instead of spiral-bound. The other two were:Welcome Home: A Home Improvement and Decorating Organizer by Christina Poggi. This was the most ill-suited of the three for what I was looking for. For one, it is smaller than a standard-size piece of paper so you couldn't hole-punch warranty information and such and put it in. Also, it was designed for someone who is focused on a big remodel or decorating, not for keeping track of day-to-day the-dishwasher-is-broken-has-the-warranty-run-out sort of information.The Ultimate Home Journal & Organizer by Alex Lluch. I debated between the Lluch book and the Fried book that I kept, but ultimately went with Fried. The Lluch book has very flimsy pages (while as the pages in Fried are more like cardstock), and the organization of the Lluch book didn't seem practical to me (instead of organizing room-by-room, the section were things like "tubs and toilets" and "paint").

I was looking more for an organizer for paperwork, mortgage, appliances, paint color by room, etc. it does have add on plastic pages but very little room for any more. I would have given it 5 stars but the top rivet came out a day after I got it. i know it was out of print though. i will use the sections that i like.

Overall this is a great idea. I do find it very strange that they made a tab for pets, which was very extensive, but no tab for family or children. It would have been nice if they would have made a tab for family/children and spots for insurance info concerning your loved ones. As it is, I took the pet tab and altered it to use for my family. Must have been a single, pet lover that designed this book! On the plus side, I feel much more organized and it is nice to have all our info in one spot.

I redesigned several of the sections to cover my life as a single person: Home Repair/Maintenance schedule, Receipts/Warantees, Home insurance, Condo Association, Investments. I wasn't really looking for an organizer so dedicated to decorating.

This book helps one gather all the inportant information associated with home management. We live in a hurricane area and this book will go with us along with our important documents if we should need to evacuate. We placed a USB loaded with photos of our house (rooms, prints, valuables) in this book as well. Great organizing/documentation tool.

Larger than previous one I ordered "The Home Owner's Journal". Laid out very well. Awesome to able to store documents on appliances, paints, everything you have done or purchased for your home. No more guessing where the paperwork is!!! I love it. A must have if you ask me.

I ordered this home records organizer for our new home. I have something similar for a previous home, given to me by a mortgage broker, and it was very handy. This book is flawed, however. It will not hold 8.5 X 11 papers, due to the small size of the folders and page protectors. Yes, you could buy and use your own folders and page protectors, but then you wouldn't be able to see the divider tabs in the book. Too bad, as I was looking forward to using it!

This book binder is great for Newlyweds or anyone moving to a new home. I have purchased it before for shower gifts and had great response. It gives a place to put information that needs to be saved, receipts and warranties. Great for that new homeowner.
