Best By Date means the product will have its best taste and freshness up to that date. After that date, the product will begin to lose some of its taste and freshness as time goes by. It isn't necessarily bad per se by that date. Hope this helps.

I think it depends on the size of your dog. These are pliable and you can break apart and mold around two pills, if not able to fit into one. I have a papillon and the capsule size is too big for her to get in one bite, so I break things up. Note: the Peanutbutter are the WORST for pliability. We stick with the chicken flavor, as they're the softest.
