This is my second replacement for my snowblower (I got it from Lowes). These carbs are a little sketchy as they gum up pretty easily. Even gas treatment won't stop it. I don't drain my tank, so I try to start up the motor every week or so; but then I forget and it gets gummed up, and I have to replace the carb again. But they are cheap enough to replace whenever that happens. There was a bit of a learning curve the first time it happened, but now it's pretty easy. Maybe there's a way to clean it up, but it's easier to just put a new one in. Not quite 5 starts because they keep gumming up, but def 4 stars for ease of use.

Cleared Up Start & Run Problems
The hardest part of installing this carb was figuring out what model carb to install. Once you know the model number carb you require, (I had to disassemble a lot of the shrouding and other parts just to be able to read the model number on the flange above the float bowl of the original carb), the rest was easy.

Use ethanol free fuel
My Troy Bilt snow blower surged from day one. I ended up meticulously cleaning my carb only to find it surge again once I put it back together. I purchased this carb a few weeks ago but after installing it, it's still surged. I ran across a YouTube video that referenced the Troy-Bilt manual where it recommended ethanol free 91 octane fuel. It runs so smooth now, I'll be sure to properly winterize this carb going forward.

Missing gaskets
Carb llok great matched the snow blower, but no gasket for install which were clearly shown in items picture. Returned and purchased local gasket and had to clean and rebuild carb. Would have been much simpler to replace at the time.
