Shimano Quality - Great Chain
If you ride a Shimano 12spd drivetrain, this is the chain for you.Durable, reliable, and goes the extra mile. Wipe off crud (and lube) before every ride, and it will treat you well.Note that Shimano says the quicklinks for 12spd can't be re-used. However - I have re-used them successfully. I'd suggest saving your old quicklink in your bag when replacing your chain. That way, if you're ever stuck trailside with a broken chain, you can pop it in to get home. Saves a lot of time over breaking and re-linking a chain with a chain tool.If your shifting starts to deteriorate, check it with a chain stretch tool. If your derailluer is intact, most likely a stretched chain (0.5 wear mark) is causing it. Get this new chain and return to smooth pedaling!

Buy the Real Thing
I tried being cheap and going with a knockoff brand. The chains both didn't make 100 miles of hard riding. As long as you get a real Shimano chain, it should last (lasts me ~500 miles).

FAKE!!! Totally worn out in 100mi. NOT real Shimano!
FAKE COPY! Cheap Chinese metal!Bought this chain 4mo ago, put about 100mi on it. The quick link broke on the last ride. Fixed it, looked closer when I got home and I can’t believe how worn this chain is. Beyond 1.0 on checker and you can see in the pics that it’s practically riding off the cassette. The bike has 580 total mi and this is the second chain. I’ve never had one wear so quickly. Using same Motul lube I always do. I replace chains every 500mi and typically have zero issues. This chain is junk and I believe it to be a cheap Chinese copy. The chain is stamped TD where real Shimano is stamped HG.This is without a doubt a FAKE xt chainWish I could return it.Would give negative stars if I could.

It’s the original Deore XT CN-M8100 Chain
The chain just arrived and I can confirm this is the original Shimano Deore XT CN-M8100 Chain. The links come with it. This is e-bike class also. I installed it in 15 minutes, considering I had to cut around 4 full links to fit my FS MTB. There is a great video by Shimano on YT showing how to measure the chain length for your type of bike.

Missing quick link
I received The chain in a plastic bag, not in the box as described so could not verify that it was an actual Shimano chain. There was no quick link with the product either.
