Good idea but they don't work for me
Today I tried out Rainlegs and I am returning them. They are basically rain chaps that feel and look like a jockstrap.PROS1-- Good idea - innovative2-- Very lightweightCONS1-- Time consuming and very awkward to put on. They have FIVE fasteners, including a strap around the waist with a plastic side buckle, an elastic and velcro strap around each knee, and then a couple of elastic and plastic side buckle straps that go from the crotch behind the upper leg and fasten at the outer thigh.2-- Potentially dangerous. That crotch strap got caught on my bike seat every time I stood up to pedal or get off my bike. Nearly tipped over at one point because I got stuck on my own seat.3-- Hot. They are basically nylon with an unbreathable plastic backing that causes the fronts of my legs to overheat.

They were great. Kept my legs dry
Finally had a ride on a rainy day and a chance to use them. They were great. Kept my legs dry. I did not get hot and sweaty. Small and convenient to carry before the rain.

A slightly ridiculous innovation in bike wear that actually works (give or take the odd funny look)
On the face of it a ridiculous invention: roll up, wear around your waist nylon cycling "chaps" that you pull down the front of your trousers and attach round your knees when it rains. In practice, they are kind of genius - protecting the bit of your trousers that get most wet when it rains, whilst leaving you free of the bulk and sweatiness of waterproof trousers, which are a nightmare for cycling in.Are they worth buying? Well as part of a 5-10 mile bike commuting set-up, I reckon yes. They'll see a few days use on days when it can't quite decide whether to bucket down or just drizzle, and when your already so done up in practical biking gear you won't really worry about the odd glances, and instead revel in the admiring looks at your practical rain proofs. For the casual cyclist, its not really worth having in your bag, as they are so small, you'll probably mislay them.Pros - keep your legs mostly dry in light-medium rain, pack up small, dead practicalCons - look moderately silly when deployed, can be a bit of a challenge to roll back up nice and small once you've got them unrolled.Would I buy again? Maybe, but glad I've got a pair.

A good solution
These Rainlegs are surprisingly effective and far more comfortable than they look. I first used them in a downpour. I was out for about 45 minutes and it was only in the last ten minutes that damp started to seep through them. In light rain they should be really great. Lightweight and not as unflattering as I thought they'd be. I am using them over shorts right now and they keep the thigh muscle nice and warm without feeling restrictive. Sizing is slightly odd but I am 5'4" and the Small fit perfectly on length while the waistband has plenty of room for expansion.

Amazing!
These are absolutely brilliant for riding horses in the rain. I teach and ride as my job so forever getting cold and wet, these have changed my life! I’ve recommended them to so many people who have gone and bought them too and love them. I’m a size 8 women’s and they fit perfectly! In case you can’t tell, I LOVE them!

Work well for horse riders
I bought these for a horse riding weekend in Wales. They were perfect, lightweight and didn't obstruct movement - so much better than a pair of waterproof overtrousers. When horseriding the front of your thighs often gets very wet because the water runs down the front of your jacket straight onto your legs. These kept my thighs dry in both light showers and some fairly heavy rain. The only reason I have dropped a star is because the mesh panel at the front kept catching on the zip toggle of my johdpur pocket and got torn, but doesn't effect the product in any other than a cosmetic way.
