I will note that at a glance this item was packaged well on the exterior with the shrink wrap and a sturdy and beautiful box. However, after opening many of the cards were disheveled and they were all out of order - which struck me as odd since it's an alphabet. A few cards were grouped together with a paper strap, and there were a few straps that were just loose in the box as if it were put together in a rush, or previously returned? After doing a count of all the items the matching card for the letter M was not included.Unfortunately, I had to request an exchange of the item since it's really incomplete without all the cards. UPS is supposed to pick up the incomplete set today and Amazon has already confirmed a replacement has shipped, just a bit inconvenient.This is the reason for the 4 stars.Hopefully the new box will include all of the items as I am very much looking forward to using this item regularly with my two year old son.**My notes about the actual product:The cards seemed to be a heavy duty cardboard, maybe chip board material and seemed as if they would hold up well as long as they aren't left to be mistreated by your little one.The letters were beautiful and a fun size. I would make sure your child is supervised while using them, as some could be swallowed or become a choking hazard if not careful. They aren't particularly small, but a bit of an in between size that could be problematic for really young kiddos.The art is so fun the colors are vibrant and the set as a whole make this such a cool way to explore letters and numbers!I personally love it!*UPDATED 11-4-2021*After receiving the second box and having yet ANOTHER issue with missing letters.. I can't fully support the seller and their product. As stated in my original review, I was missing the card for the letter M - the second box that was sent to replace the first was missing the wooden letter "S" and included two of the letter "P". This is a really dumb quality control issue and is frustrating for a customer to have it happen twice.Thankfully Amazon makes returns phenomenally easy, or I would be much more irritated with this ordeal 🙄I give two stars for the idea of this item and wish the seller would be as eager to please as the fulfillment center they use to distribute their product.

The cards are fairly thick cardboard and have a recess so that each flash card is basically a puzzle with one wooden piece that matches the easily identifiable shape. There's also an animal printed on the front along with the name of the animal. There's a picture with the animal on the back along with small instructions showing how to write the letter as a capital and lowercase letter. For the numbers 1 through 10, that number of animals is on the front of the card along with the puzzle indentations for the number. On the back, there is a scene with that number of animals. I like how the letters and numbers are very clear and not obscured by trying to make them cutesy. The flashcards are thick cardboard, so they should be durable but are not as sturdy as wood. The set can be easily stored in the box it came in. I also like how these can be used to teach spelling. My 4.5-year-old niece didn't really get why she was learning the alphabet until we started putting these cards down and having her put the matching wooden letters into the puzzle pieces to make a word. She's now rapidly learning how to spell different words. (You cannot use this set to make a word that uses two of the same letter, but this taught the idea and spelling sets are available to expand upon the idea.)

This is a fun learning toy. Comes packaged in an adorable box. Open to find the cards and wood letters and numbers. Very well made, nice quality. Good size for little hands but not small enough to choke on. Good for teaching counting, spelling, alphabet and more. Perfect for me to work with my grandson on.

This number and alphabet flashcards and wooden pieces set is awesome. I like how simple the letters and pictures look on the cards as they are not distracting from learning, yet they are still attractive. The flash cards are good quality paper on the thicker side. The wooden numbers and letters are also well made and well painted. We love using wooden manipulative in our home and these can be used with or without the flash cards in so many creative ways and thought up games to make learning fun. They can be used for letter, sound, and number learning as well as simple word building.

This was perfect!!! It is a perfect activity for my littles!
