Great Features and Photos - 5 STAR
I have owned several drones, but my ‘loyalty’ is often with Holy Stone – I have found that getting assistance from manufacturers often impossible and tedious, BUT with Holy Stone it is always easy. Whenever emailing them I get help within 24 hours and their support people monitor the Holy Stone Facebook group and offer help – by online messages. This ‘version’ came with 2 batteries, charger, spare props and landing feet, the remote control and a nice storage bag. The remote control has internal re- chargeable batteries which is a real bonus as I always have to buy batteries for my other drones. This drone is very well built using high quality plastics etc. and weight is kept low so that in the UK you do not need a drone license. I was keen to fly, and I should probably have postponed things as it was quite a blustery day and I have lost control of other drones in the past. The 120D however has GPS, which will hold it in position even though the wind is trying to blow it off course. I did notice that as the height increased the wind did try to move it off course – but then I realised I was only on the slow speed setting – increasing the speed to medium was sufficient and if necessary I could have increased speed again to high. The features worked well – the follow me mode and also an option to hold the drone in position whilst it rotates keeping the camera on me as I circled it. It also has way-points so it will follow a path on the map. It has headless mode so the drone will always fly in the direction of the joystick. As it has GPS it also has RTH (return to home) so if you do lose sight of it, by activating the RTH it will return to the take off point. It also has ‘failsafe’ RTH – if the batteries are low it will return to home and if the signal is weak it will also RTH. The app is very good, with altitude, distance, and battery levels shown, and it also has FPV which enables the pilot to monitor the direction it is flying and take photos/videos which are downloaded to your phone and a micro SD card in the camera. The photos and video are 2K and very good HD quality for a drone in this price range. The instruction booklet is very clear, so often I have purchased drones and other products – often built in China and the translation from Chinese to English is nonsense and can’t be understood but Holy Stone take more trouble and translation is excellent.I could say much more, but as the batteries have now re-charged and my grandson has arrived – he is nagging me to show him how to fly. In conclusion this drone is great fun and for the price has some great features, it is well built and stable and steady even in windy conditions. 5 STARS *****

A great choice for my first drone
HOLY STONE HS120D was my first ever drone, and I find it so easy to set up and use, it comes in a smart carry case, with two batteries, a charger, spare rotor blades, instruction manual and legsonce charged the batteries have a satisfactory life, of approx 15 minutes and are easy to swop overthe drone is remarkable steady in flight, and really responsive. the controls are simple to use and include functions such as follow me, which has been useful when out hiking, the way point function allows you to plot in a route for the drone is extremely useful, and it has a auto return home function where it will when used bring the drone back to its original take off point, I have on several times taken off and landed on the roof of my car, it has a altitude hold and allows you to set the altitude and distancealthough simple to use it is certainly not a childs toy but a real drone, the camera takes excellent footage as the drone is so stable in flight, and so quiet for a drone. The drone is controlled by your phone and has real life instantaneous imagesI take a lot of photograph of the Lake District and of wildlife and the drone is certainly part of my equipment and travels with methe service from the supplier is really quick and helpfulI am pleased I chose this particular drone and recommended it to a friend who is also impressedI do think rotor guards would be a good idea though

YEAH NICE DRONE
Impressions of a complete beginner. It seems a well made drone, probably ideal for a beginner in that it comes supplied with two batteries, spare propeller blades as well as pare screws and washers. It also come with a power unit able to charge two batteries at a time, a charging cable for the control unit and a very superior carrying case to hold everything in as well as a detailed (almost) instruction manual. I was surprised at just how nice this case is. Even with everything in it is very light and easily carried. You need to download the Holy Stone HS GPS V1 app from the app store (I use IOS) to use the drone. Before use the drone has to be paired, calibrated etc, all explained in the manual and backed up in the app. So it’s put battery in drone, switch on, turn on app in phone and then turn on controller and following instructions, neither in the manual or on the app. DO NOT forget the calibrating the gyro step and keep the drone as level as possible. Off you go, firstly automatically to between 3 and 5 feet. For my first few tries I just took off then landed and it was doing this that I came across one of the drones foibles. When you press the landing button on the controller the drone does not come straight down, or at least mine does not. It drifts to either left or right quite a bit then eventually lands. My advice, if you don’t want to make instant use of the spare props, is to try landing and take-offs in a field or at least an open space with plenty of nothing around it.It seems fairly easy to get the hang off apart from that and the camera takes pretty good stills and video. (Switch the vid on from the app, using the controller results in continuous beeping which is enough to drive anyone mad). Overall, this complete beginner is fairly happy.
